OF Carlos Quentin scratched from White Sox lineup

Published Jul. 16, 2010 8:53 p.m. ET

Chicago White Sox right fielder Carlos Quentin has been removed from the lineup against Minnesota because of a bruised right wrist.

Quentin originally was listed as the designated hitter Friday night, with Andruw Jones giving him a break in right. Quentin was hit by a pitch on the wrist the night before, though he stayed in the game.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said before the switch was made that Quentin was fine, but Guillen also said he wanted to be cautious with his slugger, who has 19 homers and 62 RBIs. Guillen said he didn't want Quentin to try to ''be a hero.''

Brett Lillibridge was inserted in the lineup as the designated hitter, with Jones moving up from seventh to fifth in the order.
