Judge meets with McCourts separately
A judge overseeing mediation between Jamie and Frank McCourt has met with the couple separately in their divorce case that could decide ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Mary Hearn, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Superior Court, says Judge Peter Lichtman sat down with each McCourt on Friday regarding efforts to reach a settlement. No details were released.
The McCourts are awaiting a ruling by another judge on whether a postnuptial marital agreement they signed in 2004 is valid. The disputed 10-page document exists in two versions - one that gives Frank McCourt sole ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and one that doesn't.
Frank McCourt maintains the Dodgers are his separate assets, while his estranged wife wants the pact thrown out and the couple's assets divided as community property.
