Wide receiver Dwayne Stanford's 'time is coming again', says offensive coordinator
Wide receiver Dwayne Stanford, Oregon's tallest playmaker, didn't catch a single pass against Michigan State. Offensive coordinator Scott Frost explains why:
"They play press on the outside. It's quarters coverage, but they press and lock their corners on the outside. We made some plays on it, it just didn't happen to be Dwayne," Frost said. "We don't look to get the ball to any one receiver. We're just going to throw to who is open. Dwayne was open a few times and we just didn't get the ball to him, or got it to someone else in the progression before we got it to him."
Bralon Addison, one of Oregon's best receivers, had a big game against the Spartans. Frost said the Ducks weren't expecting that type of performance from Addison and that Stanford will be bigger part of the offense going forward.
"We probably weren't expecting Bralon to have that big of a game, but he's the guy the ball found," Frost said. "We're proud of Bralon and pleased to see him have that kind of game. And Dwayne's time is coming again."
