2025 New Mexico State Football Predictions: Aggies Ranked 122nd in RJ Young's Ultimate 136

This isn't your average college football ranking.

My Ultimate 136 is a set of rankings that is fluid, but it's my job to look ahead and make a claim for all FBS teams based on what I know and why I know it. Here are the three pressing questions I started by asking when putting together this list:

  • Who do I think is good?
  • Why do I think they're good?
  • What are the chances they will finish above or below my expectations?

Here is a look at where New Mexico State lands in my Ultimate 136.

New Mexico State ranking: 122
Last year’s ranking: 122
Top player: LB Tyler Martinez: Started all 12 games last season and led the Aggies in total tackles (96), solo tackles (47); finished Second Team All C-USA.

RJ's take: Tony Sanchez’s Aggies couldn't score with any consistency in 2024. In fact, New Mexico State scored 28 points or more just five times and won just three games last year.

They could at least run the ball then. Now, with six of the seven offensive linemen who played the most snaps for him gone, that's not necessarily going to be NMSU's strength in 2025.

New Mexico State Win Total Odds: Over 4.5 (-144) Under 4.5 (+118)
