Elias Pettersson - Adds helper in overtime win Pettersson notched an assist and two blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers.
Impact Pettersson has played in all 10 games to begin the season, but his helper Sunday was his first contribution on offense. The 21-year-old has mostly been in a limited third-pairing role, but he was up to 20:22 of ice time in this contest due to Quinn Hughes' (lower body) absence and Victor Mancini's (undisclosed) early exit. Pettersson has accumulated six shots on net, 12 hits, 13 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating to begin 2025-26. He's got some potential, but fantasy managers can leave him on the waiver wire until he shows up on the scoresheet more often.

Impact Quinn Hughes (lower body) missed the game and Victor Mancini (undisclosed) left early, leaving plenty of minutes for other defensemen to pick up. Pettersson was part of that equation, and it helped him earn his first point of the season on Brock Boeser's opening goal in the first period. While offense has been absent for Pettersson, he's at 17 blocked shots, five hits, eight PIM and a plus-1 rating across 10 appearances this season. He won't be a strong fantasy option unless his scoring reaches a more consistent level, but his ice time could increase while Hughes is out.

Impact Boeser missed two games while attending to a personal matter, and he was held off the scoresheet in two appearances after returning to the team. The 28-year-old winger broke the slump in a big way Sunday. He scored the opening goal late in the first period and set up both of Kiefer Sherwood's tallies, with the second one securing the win 1:43 into overtime. Boeser is up to four goals, two assists, 20 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating over eight appearances this season. He's locked into a top-six role, though his early-season spot on the top line has gone to the red-hot Conor Garland over the last week.

When that didn't end up being enough, he came through in overtime, tipping home a Brock Boeser shot for the game-winning goal. Sherwood has been all goals and hits to begin 2025-26, racking up six tallies on 19 shots and adding 45 hits through 10 appearances. He hasn't had a lot of game-to-game consistency on offense, but the thin Canucks' lineup allows him to maintain a middle-six role with power-play time.

Impact It wasn't the prettiest performance, especially after blowing a 3-1 lead in the third period, but Demko ultimately got the job done. He's won three of his last four starts, though he has allowed three goals in three of those games. The 29-year-old goalie is at a 4-2-0 record with a 2.36 GAA and a .922 save percentage over six outings. Demko has alternated starts with Kevin Lankinen for much of the season, but the former is getting the better results and may earn a majority of the playing time. The Canucks host the Rangers on Tuesday.
