Vincent Desharnais - Starting to lose playing time
Desharnais was scratched for the third time in eight games when he sat out Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
Desharnais hasn't done anything to help his case to stay in the lineup. The Canucks are now giving Elias Pettersson a taste of NHL action on the third pairing. Desharnais has gone 12 games without a point, racking up 22 hits, 19 PIM and 16 blocked shots in that span. For the season, the 28-year-old is at three assists, 54 hits, 48 blocks, 34 PIM and 20 shots on net through 34 appearances. Desharnais may face further pressure for playing time once Noah Juulsen (undisclosed) can return from injured reserve.

Jake DeBrusk - Snags helper in win
DeBrusk notched an assist and two hits in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
DeBrusk's production took a nosedive recently -- his helper on Conor Garland's opening tally Monday ended a nine-game point drought. During that skid, DeBrusk managed just 12 shots on net and went minus-4. The winger has dropped to the third line recently, though the Canucks' lines are also in flux to some extent. DeBrusk has 30 points (10 on the power play), 97 shots on net, 70 hits, 30 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 49 appearances, and if he can get going again, a promotion to the top six could follow.

Quinn Hughes - Extends streak with two helpers
Hughes logged a pair of assists, including one on the power play, and three shots on goal in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
Hughes has five goals and four assists during his six-game point streak, with three of those outings being multi-point efforts. The 25-year-old defenseman hasn't been overly reliant on the power play in that stretch, earning three points with the man advantage during the streak. He's up to 14 goals, 42 helpers, 133 shots on net and a plus-13 rating over 45 contests this season.

J.T. Miller - Goal, fight in win
Miller scored a power-play goal on two shots and added five PIM in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
Miller dropped the mitts with Brayden Schenn early in the first period. In the end, Miller would get the last laugh, as his second-period tally ended up being the game-winner. He ended a nine-game goal drought, a span in which he managed a modest four assists. The 31-year-old center is up to nine goals, 34 points (13 on the power play), 81 shots on net, 87 hits, 37 PIM and a minus-4 rating across 39 appearances in a top-six role this season.

Aatu Raty - Summoned from minors
Raty was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Tuesday.
Impact
Raty has two goals, two assists, 12 shots on net and 48 hits over 20 NHL appearances this season. He has eight goals and 23 points in 23 AHL outings during the 2024-25 campaign. Raty's promotion to Vancouver may not bode well for the availability of Dakota Joshua (leg) and Kiefer Sherwood (undisclosed) ahead of Wednesday's game versus Nashville.

Tyler Myers - Strong showing in return
Myers scored an empty-net goal and added a shorthanded assist, five shots on net, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
Making his return from a three-game absence due to a suspension, Myers played a big role in Vancouver's road win. The veteran blueliner has had a productive January despite the disciplinary break, picking up two goals and seven points in 10 appearances with 21 blocked shots, 18 shots on net, 11 hits and 25 PIM.

Pius Suter - Two points in St. Louis
Suter scored a shorthanded goal and added an even-strength assist in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
His tally midway through the second period -- Suter's first shortie of the season, and the fourth of his career -- gave the Canucks a 4-1 lead and effectively put the game away. The 28-year-old hadn't had a multi-point performance since Dec. 6, but with 12 goals in 48 appearances, Suter's on pace for the first 20-goal campaign of his career.

Conor Garland - Lights lamp twice in win
Garland scored two goals, one on the power play, in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
The 28-year-old struck twice in the first period to propel the Canucks to a road win. It was Garland's first multi-goal performance since Nov. 29 and his first multi-point effort since Dec. 10, and he'd managed just two goals and three points in 12 January contests prior to Monday's outburst. Despite that swoon, the streaky forward has 13 goals and 33 points in 49 appearances, keeping him on pace to top the career-high 52 points he produced in 2021-22.

ROTOWIRE
Kevin Lankinen - Picks up second straight win
Lankinen stopped 24 shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Blues.
Impact
Vancouver built a 3-0 lead midway through the second period, and Lankinen made sure St. Louis never got within striking distance of tying it up. The 29-year-old goalie has won back-to-back starts to give him 18 victories on the season, setting a new career high. Through eight outings in January, Lankinen is 4-2-2 with a 2.48 GAA and .898 save percentage, and he figures to continue seeing an increased workload as long as Thatcher Demko (3.52 GAA, .852 save percentage on the month) is struggling.
