Impact Mancini was forced into a larger role after Elias Pettersson (upper body) left Wednesday's contest in the first period. The 22-year-old Mancini saw a career-high 18:32 of ice time while picking up some of the slack, and he was able to deliver the secondary helper on the other Elias Pettersson's third-period goal to tie the game. This gave Mancini five points, 24 shots on net, 28 blocked shots, 19 hits and a minus-2 rating over 20 appearances between the Canucks and the Rangers this season.

Impact Hughes returned from a four-game absence and set up a Jake DeBrusk tally in the second period. If the Canucks were planning on easing Hughes back in, it didn't happen -- he led the team with 29:48 of ice time and had to pick up the slack when Elias Pettersson (upper body) exited the contest after the first period. It's unclear if Hughes is fully healthy or just managing his injury to help the Canucks' playoff push. The 25-year-old defenseman is up to 61 points (23 on the power play), 144 shots on net, 48 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating over 51 appearances.

Impact Lankinen gave up a pair of goals to Jonathan Huberdeau in the second period, which put the Canucks behind. Elias Pettersson tied the game in the third, and Lankinen held firm, including stopping three of four attempts in the shootout, to secure the win in a game between two teams battling for a playoff spot. The 29-year-old netminder is 3-3-0 after starting six straight games to begin March, and he's allowed three or more goals in four of those contests. For the season, Lankinen sports a 23-12-7 record with a 2.55 GAA and a .904 save percentage through 42 appearances. The Canucks have another back-to-back up next, as they host the Blackhawks on Saturday and Utah on Sunday.
