Alexander Romanov - Returning to action Thursday Romanov (upper body) will return to the lineup for Thursday's game against Carolina, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Impact Romanov was sidelined since mid-October due to his upper-body injury, but he's been cleared to return following a five-game absence. Over Romanov's first four appearances of the season, he recorded no points, 15 hits, 12 blocked shots, four PIM and a minus-3 rating while averaging 18:12 of ice time.

Impact Palmieri put the Islanders ahead 2-0 at 4:52 of the second period. He has three goals and an assist over his last five outings as he continues to provide steady offense in a top-six role. Overall, the veteran winger is up to seven points, 30 shots on net, nine hits and a minus-1 rating through nine appearances this season.

Bo Horvat - Pair of points in loss Horvat scored a goal on six shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins.

Impact Horvat opened the scoring 1:08 into the game and assisted on a Kyle Palmieri tally just before the five-minute mark. Despite that hot start, Horvat and the Islanders weren't able to maintain momentum throughout the game. This was the center's fourth multi-point effort in nine outings this season, which gives him six goals and five assists in addition to 34 shots on net and a plus-6 rating. He's a valuable all-situations center and should continue to be productive for fantasy managers.

Ilya Sorokin - Struggles persist Tuesday Sorokin stopped 17 of 21 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Impact Sorokin has allowed at least three goals in all seven of his starts this season, going 2-4-1. He's given up four goals in five of those outings, but he hasn't been worse than that yet. Tuesday's performance was a disappointment since the Islanders took an early 2-0 lead and Sorokin couldn't make it last, though two of the Bruins' four goals against him were on power plays. With a 3.75 GAA and an .868 save percentage so far, Sorokin's best attribute has been ample playing time. David Rittich will start Thursday against the Hurricanes, and it's expected Sorokin will get the nod Friday versus the Capitals.
