Ilya Sorokin - Facing Seattle Sorokin will patrol the home crease Tuesday against Seattle, Stefen Rosner of NYI Hockey Now reports.
Impact Sorokin posted a 23-save shoutout win over Detroit on Jan. 27 prior to the All-Star break. He has a 16-16-4 record this season with a 2.38 GAA and a 923 save percentage in 38 appearances. Sorokin will get the second half of New York's back-to-back after Semyon Varlamov played in Monday's win over Philadelphia. The Kraken rank fourth in the league this year with 3.61 goals per game.

Oliver Wahlstrom - Status for rest of season uncertain Wahlstrom (leg) is in a cast and on crutches, leaving his status for the remainder of the season in doubt, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
Impact Wahlstrom has been out for nearly six weeks already, and the fact that he's still in need of mobility aids suggests his return is not on the horizon. He'll likely be out for the rest of February at a minimum, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the Islanders make a splash for a middle-six forward at the trade deadline if Wahlstrom doesn't make much progress before then.

Alexander Romanov - Unavailable Tuesday Romanov (personal) won't play Tuesday versus the Kraken.
Impact Romanov's absence will open up a chance for Samuel Bolduc or Parker Wotherspoon to draw into the lineup. It's unclear if Romanov's absence will keep him out of the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Canucks.

Impact Nelson is rocking a seven-game point streak comprised of four goals and four assists. Fantasy managers recognize him as a steady offensive presence, and this year he's taken his game to new heights, as he's averaging a career high 0.89 points per contest.

Josh Bailey - Notches power-play assist Bailey registered a power-play assist in Monday's 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Impact This was Bailey's first point in the last six games. The Islanders seem to be frustrated by his lack of production, as he was bumped down to the fourth line ahead of the NHL All-Star break, and Bo Horvat -- who's enjoying a career year -- was acquired in a trade with the Canucks in an attempt to stabilize the top line. Bailey rejoined the top-six group of forwards and picked up 17:36 of ice time against the Flyers, but the pressure is on for him to shift into a better gear offensively.

Adam Pelech - Hasn't found his game yet Pelech has struggled over his last five games since returning from a concussion.
Impact Pelech only has one point, an assist, in those games, but what is much more concerning is that he has a rating of minus-2 in those contests. That rating is even though the team has only allowed nine goals total in those five games. Perhaps a slow start from his return is to be expected as Pelech rounds himself back into form after missing 21 games due to the injury. Pelech will look to get back to the player considered to be the best defensive defenseman for the Islanders on Tuesday when they host the Kraken.

Semyon Varlamov - Secures win over Flyers Varlamov stopped 25 of 26 shots in Monday's 2-1 victory over Philadelphia.
Impact Varlamov now has wins in back-to-back games for the first time since early December. The netminder had found himself on the outside looking in behind Ilya Sorokin but has now played in three of the Islanders' last four contests. With a back-to-back on the schedule, Sorokin should get the nod against the Kraken on Tuesday.

Mathew Barzal - Sets new career high in GWG Barzal scored the game-winning goal in Monday's 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Impact He redirected a Brock Nelson feed past Carter Hart midway through the second period to give the Islanders a 2-0 lead that Semyon Varlamov was able to make hold up. Barzal is more known for his playmaking that his sniping and hasn't reached the 20-goal mark in a season since 2017-18, but the 25-year-old is making his tallies count this season. He's already set a new career high with five game-winners, despite scoring only 13 goals through 52 games.

Kyle Palmieri - Lights lamp on power play Palmieri scored a power-play goal in Monday's 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Impact The veteran winger opened the scoring late in the first period, ringing a shot off the post and behind Carter Hart to convert a give-and-go with Josh Bailey. Palmieri has put together a five-game point streak since returning just before the All-Star break from a lengthy absence due to an upper-body injury, producing six points during that stretch, but Monday's tally was his first since Nov. 17.

Mathew Barzal - Brushes twine in victory Barzal found the back of the net in Monday's 2-1 win over the Flyers.
Impact Barzal put some lumber on a Noah Dobson shot and deflected the puck into the cage for his 13th goal and 44th point of the season. He's been clutch with five game-winning goals, and the addition of Bo Horvat -- formerly the Canucks captain -- figures to be a major boon to Barzal down the stretch.

Ilya Sorokin - Posts second straight shutout Sorokin saved all 32 shots in Tuesday's 4-0 victory over the Kraken.
Impact Sorokin earned his fifth shutout of the season and the 15th of his career. He improved to 17-16-4 with a 2.31 GAA and a .926 save percentage in 39 contests in 2022-23. Sorokin struggled from Jan. 16-23, posting a 0-2-2 record, 3.97 GAA and .889 save percentage over four outings, but since then he's earned back-to-back shutout victories.

Samuel Bolduc - Gets first NHL goal Bolduc provided a goal in a 4-0 victory over Seattle on Tuesday.
Impact Bolduc opened the scoring at 7:58 of the first period, and that goal ended up being the game-winner. It was his first goal and point in five career NHL contests. At the AHL level, he's contributed eight goals and 26 points in 41 games with Bridgeport this season.
