Colin Miller - Removed from IR Miller (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
Impact Miller was a healthy scratch for the first five games of the season before missing the past 10 contests due to a lower-body injury. He will probably be scratched for Tuesday's matchup with Winnipeg. Miller had six goals, 21 points, 106 shots on net, 70 blocked shots and 108 hits in 79 appearances with Dallas last season.

Jack Hughes - Won't face Jets Hughes (shoulder) won't travel to face Winnipeg on Tuesday but could link up with the club for Thursday's trip to Pittsburgh, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Impact Hughes will be out of action for his fourth consecutive contest but appears to be trending in the right direction. It's been a strong start to the season for the 22-year-old center, as he has scored in eight of his 10 games this season for a combined five goals and 15 assists, including 12 power-play points.

Impact Hischier, who hasn't played since Oct. 27, didn't practice Monday and won't travel with the team. It's unclear at this time if he will be available for Saturday's home contest versus the Rangers. Hischier has two goals, 14 shots on net and five hits in seven appearances this season. Michael McLeod has been productive during Hischier's absence, scoring two goals and two assists in his past five outings.

Max Willman - Practicing Monday Willman was in attendance at practice with the Devils on Monday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Impact Willman appears to have been recalled from the minors ahead of Monday's practice after what appears to have been a paper demotion Sunday. In his two outings this season, the 28-year-old winger has managed one goal on three shots, one hit and one block. Even with the call-up, Willman shouldn't be expected to get into the lineup against Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Akira Schmid - Needed in relief Friday Schmid stopped 20 of 21 shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Capitals after replacing Vitek Vanecek midway through the first period.
Impact Two goals in 15 seconds off Vanecek put the Devils in an early hole, and Lindy Ruff's decision to switch goalies looked like it might pay off when the team nearly tied things up with a third-period rally. Schmid hasn't won a game since Oct. 20, allowing six goals on 62 shots in his three appearances since, but with Vanecek struggling the 23-year-old netminder could see his workload increase beginning with Tuesday's game in Winnipeg.

Impact While Vanecek can't be faulted for not stopping the Nicolas Aube-Kubel one-timer that opened the scoring, Beck Malenstyn's tally only 15 seconds later prompted Devils coach Lindy Ruff to get out his hook. Vanecek has allowed seven goals on 36 shots over his last two starts since seeing a four-game win streak end, and on the season the 27-year-old is 6-3-0 with a shaky 3.45 GAA and .887 save percentage. New Jersey doesn't play again until Tuesday in Winnipeg, but Schmid seems likely to be in the crease.
