Nolan Foote - Heads to AHL for conditioning Foote (undisclosed) was assigned to AHL Utica on Monday for a conditioning stint.
Impact Foote will finally get to see some game action in the minors after being injured during NHL preseason play. The 23-year-old forward produced 20 goals and 37 points in 55 AHL contests last season. Foote also had one goal in six outings with New Jersey during the 2022-23 campaign.

Tyler Toffoli - Pots goal No. 25 Toffoli scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Ligtning.
Impact His tally early in the second period cut the Devils' deficit to 2-1, but it was as close as they got on the afternoon. Toffoli extended his point streak to six games with the tally, and the 31-year-old winger has 25 goals on the season -- the fourth time in his career he's reached that mark.

Akira Schmid - Stuck with loss in return to NHL Schmid stopped 23 of 26 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning, with Tampa Bay's final goal coming into an empty net.
Impact Making his first NHL start since Dec. 21, Schmid kept the Bolts off the scoreboard through the first period but things unraveled quickly to begin the second, as he was beaten twice in the first five minutes. The 23-year-old netminder hadn't been particularly impressive during his stint with AHL Utica, and his 3.47 GAA and .886 save percentage through 13 games for the minor-league club are actually worse than his 3.24 GAA and .892 save percentage in 16 contests for the Devils. Schmid will need to perform much better to put any pressure on Nico Daws for the top spot in the crease.

Impact Schmid was recalled from AHL Utica on Saturday, and he's now poised to make his first NHL appearance since Dec. 21. The 23-year-old Schmid is 5-7-1 with an .893 save percentage and 3.25 GAA with the Devils this season. He'll face a Lightning team that's averaging 3.39 goals per game.

Impact The veteran winger extended his point streak to five games with the effort, but it was Toffoli's first multi-point performance since he recorded a hat trick against the Golden Knights on Jan. 22. He's having a solid first season with the Devils, and through 56 games, Toffoli has 24 goals and 41 points.

Timo Meier - Two points against Habs Meier scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.
Impact The 27-year-old winger got the Devils on the board early in the second period before setting up Jesper Bratt for what proved to be the game-winner late in the third. It's Meier's first multi-point performance since Dec. 23, and over 16 games since returning from an abdominal injury in mid-January, he's managed a tepid two goals and nine points.

Nico Daws - Hangs on for win Saturday Daws made 23 saves in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canadiens.
Impact After a scoreless first period, the 23-year-old netminder had trouble keeping Montreal down once the New Jersey offense got rolling. Daws was caught too deep in his net on a Nick Suzuki tally midway through the second, and then couldn't squeeze another Suzuki shot inside the final two minutes of the third as the Habs tried to rally from a 4-2 deficit. He's allowed at least three goals in four straight starts, going 2-2-0 with a brutal .856 save percentage, and with Akira Schmid back on the NHL roster, Daws' run as the clear No. 1 for the Devils could be coming to an end.

Impact Schmid, who was sent to the minors Wednesday, stopped 17 of 19 shots in a 2-1 loss to AHL Syracuse on Friday. He hadn't been in net for New Jersey since Dec. 21, so that extra work allowed him to shake off the rust. Nico Daws started for the Devils on Saturday, so Schmid might play between the pipes in Sunday's home game against Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, goaltender Isaac Poulter has been returned to Utica.
