Tyson Kozak - Might play Thursday Head coach Lindy Ruff conveyed that he wouldn't rule Kozak (lower body) out for Thursday's home game versus the Blues, according to Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.
Impact Kozak is set to miss his fifth consecutive game Tuesday against Utah, but he's certainly closing in on returning to the lineup. The 22-year-old will need to be activated off injured reserve in order to suit up, but when that happens, he should slot back into a bottom-six role.

Jiri Kulich - Unlikely to play Thursday Kulich (undisclosed) looks poised to miss Thursday's clash with the Blues, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact Kulich looks set to miss at least the next two games for the Sabres, which could make him a candidate for injured reserve if the team needs a roster spot. Prior to getting hurt, the 21-year-old center was mired in a four-game goal drought during which he recorded a mere four shots. If Kulich doesn't start shooting the puck more, he may be hard-pressed to match his 15-goal total from last year.

Impact Zucker was already considered a heavy doubt to play versus the Mammoth on Tuesday, but this move confirms the veteran winger won't be an option. Impact The helper was Greenway's first point in two games since he returned from a lower-body injury. The 28-year-old was listed on the top line Saturday and may get some looks higher up in the lineup than usual, though he still had just 13:28 of ice time. He's capable of a 30-point season if he can stay relatively healthy, but the veteran winger has already missed 10 games this year and has lost at least 15 contests in each of the previous four campaigns, so don't bank on his availability.

Impact Rosen's first chance at NHL action this season didn't disappoint as he netted his first career goal to give the Sabres a 3-2 lead before the end of the first period. His category coverage with a bundle of shots, blocks and hits earned him the second star of the game. Not only did Rosen fit right in on Buffalo's third line, but he was also inserted into the team's first power-play unit, as he finished the contest with just under four minutes skating with a man advantage. While Rosen's move up from AHL Rochester was done in response to Buffalo placing winger Zach Benson on IR with a lower-body injury, a few more performances like these could keep Rosen at the NHL level beyond Benson's return. Rosen is an intriguing stash in deeper leagues if he can start to string together points.

Impact Tuch found the back of the net to level the score in the first period at two goals apiece. Overall, the 29-year-old winger has five goals, 12 points, 29 shots and 15 blocks through his first 12 games of the season. He currently leads the Sabres in points and has at least one tally in eight of his last 10 contests. His consistency has been a contributing factor to the rise of Josh Doan, who has nine points while skating alongside Tuch on the Sabres' second line. Tuch has good value in most fantasy formats and should be a large part of Buffalo's endeavors this season.

Impact Thompson worked his way back into the goal column with a swift response to Aliaksei Protas' tally in the first period to bring the Sabres back within one score. With the goal, Thompson has four twine finders in his last five games and is up to 10 points through 12 appearances this season. He's also fired 54 shots on net, which is one attempt less than the league leader, Nathan MacKinnon. According to NHL Edge stats, Thompson ranks in the 97th percentile for average shot speed, making him a threat to score from anywhere in the offensive zone. If he can continue to ramp up his play, Thompson could be in business for the third 40-plus goal season of his career.

Impact Luukkonen's second start of the season got off to a shaky start, as he allowed two goals in the first two and a half minutes. Outside that mark, he was nearly perfect, allowing just one more goal across regulation and overtime en route to the shootout win. Luukkonen now has a 1-0-1 record with a 3.33 GAA and a .877 save percentage in two games this season. The return to the win column for the 26-year-old netminder should ship away at the fantasy value of fellow goalie Alex Lyon, who has a 3-4-2 record through nine games this season. Luukkonen will likely be the team's top-option between the pipes moving forward, giving him solid fantasy value once the volume starts to match his totals from seasons past. His next chance to take the ice is at home Tuesday against the Mammoth.
