Alex Lyon - Takes tough loss Tuesday Lyon stopped 33 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Mammoth.
Impact The 32-year-old was locked in a goaltending duel with Karel Vejmelka through two scoreless periods before Nick Schmaltz opened the scoring early in the third, but Lyon was still able to earn Buffalo a point despite the fact that the Sabres were out-shot 12-3 in the final 20 minutes of regulation. Lyon has been stuck with OTLs in three straight starts, and on the season he's 3-4-3 through 10 outings with a 2.80 GAA and .915 save percentage.

Impact Ratzlaff posted a 3-0-0 record, 1.29 GAA and .966 save percentage over three October appearances with ECHL Jacksonville. The Sabres prospect should have a better path to consistent playing time in the ECHL this year, as AHL Rochester's crease is occupied by Alexandar Georgiev and Devon Levi. He'll have his hands full against an 8-4-0 Mammoth club that is tied for 10th in the NHL with 3.50 goals per game in 2025-26.

Tyson Kozak - Might play Thursday Head coach Lindy Ruff conveyed that he wouldn't rule Kozak (lower body) out for Thursday's home game versus the Blues, according to Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.
Impact Kozak is set to miss his fifth consecutive game Tuesday against Utah, but he's certainly closing in on returning to the lineup. The 22-year-old will need to be activated off injured reserve in order to suit up, but when that happens, he should slot back into a bottom-six role.

Jiri Kulich - Unlikely to play Thursday Kulich (undisclosed) looks poised to miss Thursday's clash with the Blues, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact Kulich looks set to miss at least the next two games for the Sabres, which could make him a candidate for injured reserve if the team needs a roster spot. Prior to getting hurt, the 21-year-old center was mired in a four-game goal drought during which he recorded a mere four shots. If Kulich doesn't start shooting the puck more, he may be hard-pressed to match his 15-goal total from last year.

Impact Zucker was already considered a heavy doubt to play versus the Mammoth on Tuesday, but this move confirms the veteran winger won't be an option. Even if the Sabres' use a retroactive designation for Zucker's IR placement, he should be expected to miss at least the team's next three outings while on IR. Beck Malenstyn and Isak Rosen could see increased minutes with Zucker on the shelf.
