Tage Thompson - Skates before practice Thursday Thompson (upper body) skated on Thursday and is expected to participate in practice Friday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact Thompson was injured early last week but still managed to see 11:31 of ice time Feb. 1 before leaving the game. The mandated break and All-Star break has helped and he could return Saturday versus Calgary, Thompson has 34 goals and 34 assists in 50 games as he has tied his career best in points, set last season in 78 contests.

Dylan Cozens - Signs seven-year extension Cozens signed a seven-year, $49.7 million contract extension with the Sabres on Tuesday.
Impact At just 21 years old, Cozens is currently in his third full NHL season, and he's already set new career highs in both goals (17) and assists (26) through just 49 games this year. The seventh overall pick from the 2019 Entry Draft should only continue to improve while seeing top-six usage and plenty of time with the man advantage as he enters his prime over the next few campaigns . It wouldn't be surprising to see Cozens top the 30-goal and 80-point marks in 2023-24.

Impact Luukkonen allowed three goals on a staggering 17 shots in the first period. He held firm in the second frame, but Luukkonen surrendered another marker on four shots in the third. Carolina's final goal was scored on an empty net. Luukkonen fell to 13-6-2 with a 3.26 GAA and a .900 save percentage in 21 games this season. The 23-year-old has allowed at least three goals in three of his last four outings.
