Jacory Croskey-Merritt - Keeps backfield split Croskey-Merritt rushed the ball eight times for 25 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 29-18 loss to the Eagles.

Impact Croskey-Merritt saw all eight of his carries in the first half to lead the team, though he curiously disappeared in the final two quarters in favor of Chris Rodriguez. Croskey-Merritt wasn't particularly efficient with his opportunity overall, but he did record long gains of 13 and seven yards while also punching in a touchdown from one yard away. It's unclear why Croskey-Merritt was phased out of the offense, but he appears to still have a role, even after Rodriguez returned from a one-game absence.

Deebo Samuel - Another three catches Samuel recorded three catches on four targets for 35 yards in Saturday's 29-18 loss to the Eagles.

Impact It was difficult to judge the Commanders' passing game due to Marcus Mariota's (hand) exit early in the third quarter, though Samuel wasn't particularly impactful at any point in the contest. He did manage a 20-yard gain on a tough catch and run over the middle of the field late in the third quarter, accounting for his longest reception of the contest while also marking his eighth catch of at least 20 yards this season. However, Samuel has now been held to 35 yards or fewer in four of his last eight games while topping 50 yards only twice in that span.

Terry McLaurin - Limited to four targets McLaurin recorded three receptions on four targets for 53 yards in Saturday's 29-18 loss to the Eagles.

Impact McLaurin looked to be in for a solid game, logging each of his receptions and all of his yardage by halftime. His biggest impact came on a 40-yard catch deep down the left sideline when he beat Adoree Jackson midway through the second quarter. The Commanders' entire passing game became limited after Marcus Mariota (hand) was forced to exit early in the third quarter, which led to a muted stat line for McLaurin. He would be a very risky fantasy option in Week 17 against the Cowboys if Josh Johnson is the starter.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. - Pads stats in garbage time Rodriguez rushed the ball 15 times for 63 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 29-18 loss to the Eagles. He added one reception on one target for six yards.

Impact Rodriguez returned from a one-game absence and tied his season-high with both 15 carries and 16 touches. He worked in a relatively even split with Jacory Croskey-Merritt for much of the game, though Rodriguez was able to pad his stats in garbage time. Rodriguez recorded four rushing attempts and accounted for 38 yards and his touchdown on Washington's final possession with the team down three scores. The backfield remains fairly ambiguous heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Cowboys, though both Rodriguez and Croskey-Merritt should retain significant roles.
