Projected to start again Waddle and DeVante Parker are in line to continue to serve as Miami's top wide receivers Sunday against the Bills, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

Impact Will Fuller, who was expected to return to the team's lineup this weekend, won't be available for Sunday's contest due to a personal matter. In Week 1, Waddle hauled in four of his five targets for 61 yards and a TD, while Parker recorded a 4-81-0 stat line on a team-high seven targets. The duo (who started at WR in the team's season opener) should to continue to be key cogs in Miami's passing game in Week 2, with Albert Wilson, Preston Williams (foot/knee), Mack Hollins and Jakeem Grant also candidates to mix in.

Impressive debut Waddle recorded four receptions on six targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' Week 1 victory over New England.

Impact Waddle was out-targeted by only DeVante Parker, and he finished second on the team with 61 receiving yards. He showed explosiveness in a variety of ways and picked up 17 yards on the team's first play from scrimmage. Waddle played a key role at other points in the game, hauling in a deep reception of 36 yards that set up a field goal just before halftime. On the team's opening possession of the second half, Waddle found the end zone on a three-yard catch. While Will Fuller (suspension) will return for the team's Week 2 matchup against Buffalo, Waddle showcased his capabilities in his opening regular-season contest as a professional.

Impact Per Furones, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft is projected to play a key role in the Dolphins' run-pass option offense in any case, and with Fuller out this weekend Waddle should have an immediate opportunity to rekindle his on-field chemistry with his former college quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa. At 5-foot-10, 182 pounds, Waddle profiles as an explosive playmaker, and while it remains to be seen how steady his volume will be early on in his pro career, the Alabama product has a chance to make an impact in Week 1 in tandem with fellow key pass catchers WR DeVante Parker and TE Mike Gesicki, as Fuller will be sitting this game out and Preston Williams is iffy with a foot injury.

Impact With six wide receivers sitting for the Dolphins -- notably, DeVante Parker (undisclosed) and Will Fuller (foot) -- Waddle got the start and was targeted on three of Tua Tagovailoa's first four passes. On the 10th play of Miami's opening drive, though, Waddle was undercut by an Atlanta defender while blocking. The scary moment included the rookie first-round pick remaining on the field for awhile, going to the blue medical tent and eventually walking to the locker room under his own power, all the while in visible pain. However, he was able to come back to the sideline, test out his left leg with running and cutting and eventually rejoin the Dolphins offense on the field. It'll be interesting to see if he misses upcoming practices, but Waddle appears to have dodged a bullet during exhibition action.
