Returning to practice The Falcons announced Wednesday that Patterson (knee) has been designated for return from injured reserve, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Head coach Arthur Smith said Patterson will practice Wednesday, according to Josh Kendall of The Athletic, with the transaction opening up the running back's 21-day window to be evaluated for a return to the 53-man roster. Patterson has spent time rehabbing a left knee injury since being placed on IR after Week 4, but pending his participation level in practice this week, he could be activated for as early as Sunday's game against the Chargers. Tyler Allgeier has led the Atlanta backfield in Patterson's stead, but the 31-year-old will likely reclaim the No. 1 role once back to full health.

Impact Carter picked off a PJ Walker pass intended for D'Onta Foreman near the end of the first half and returned it 28 yards for a score. Despite playing the majority of Atlanta's snaps, the fifth-year linebacker has only recorded 22 tackles across eight appearances this season, limiting his overall fantasy potential, but he does have 2.5 sacks and a now a pick six to add to his resume.

Impact Evans was busy again in Week 8, recording at least nine tackles for the fifth time over his last six appearances. However, his first sack of the season -- an eight-yard loss on a third-and-nine play in the fourth quarter -- made Sunday's outing Evans' best fantasy performance of the campaign. Across his first eight appearances with Atlanta, Evans has totaled 74 tackles, three pass defenses, two fumble recoveries and one sack. He'll look to maintain his strong play against the Chargers in Week 9.

After a heroic play from D.J. Across eight appearances, the second-year pro has totaled 17 touches for 91 yards and a score, but he remains on the outskirts of fantasy relevancy.

Impact Edwards saw a season-low three offensive snaps, but he caught his only target for three yards, marking his first reception since Week 5 and his third across six appearances. The 2020 third-round pick was expected to have a sizable role for Atlanta after being traded by Las Vegas this offseason, but he continues to find himself buried on the depth chart behind Drake London, Olamide Zaccheaus and now Damiere Byrd, who's totaled 142 yards and two scores across the Falcons' past two games.

Across eight appearances, the second-year tight end has caught five of six targets for 50 yards, which eclipses his 43 receiving yards from his rookie campaign. Regardless, Hesse's primary role for the Falcons is as a blocker, so expect his receptions to continue being few and far between.

Impact Coming into the contest Zaccheaus had secured multiple receptions in each of the first seven games of the season, totaling 19 catches on 22 targets for 302 yards. However, he saw just one opportunity during Sunday's win as Kyle Pitts (nine), Damiere Byrd (six) and Drake London (five) saw more targets. Despite a strong start to the campaign, Zaccheaus' fantasy production was always likely to be limited, so it isn't surprising to see him finally submit a dud. The 5-foot-8 wideout will look to get back on track against the Chargers in Week 9.

Impact London was on the field for 59 offensive snaps, most among Atlanta's wideouts, and he finished second on the team in receptions. However, he turned those catches into a modest 31 yards, with the majority of his production coming on a 17-yard catch late in the fourth quarter. After securing 16 of 25 targets for 214 yards and two scores across the first three games of his career, the rookie has mustered just 14 receptions for 132 yards over his last five appearances. London will look to get back on track against the Chargers in Week 9.
