Impact The nature and severity of Huntley's ailment isn't known, but he would be able to put to rest any concerns about his status for Sunday's game against the Panthers by returning to practice Friday in some capacity. If he's cleared to play this weekend, Huntley will likely work as a complement out of the backfield to Tyler Allgeier, who outsnapped him by a 27-11 margin in the Falcons' Week 7 loss to the Bengals.

Limited Wednesday Alford (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Impact Alford returning to practice in any sort of capacity is a great sign for Atlanta as he missed last week. Through his six games with the team he's recorded 15 tackles, one interception and two pass breakups. The cornerback will have two more chances to practice and recover prior to Sunday's contest against Carolina.

Eyeing potential Week 9 return Patterson (knee) posted a video Oct. 19 on his personal Twitter account featuring himself running at what appeared to be close to full speed.

Impact After being placed on injured reserve following Week 4, Patterson won't be eligible to resume practicing with the Falcons until next week. The Falcons haven't provided an official update on Patterson since he landed on IR after undergoing a minor procedure on his left knee, but the 31-year-old's recent activity suggests a return to practice next Wednesday is plausible. Even if that comes to fruition, Patterson would need to demonstrate in those practice sessions that the knee issue is fully behind him before the Falcons would entertain activating him from IR ahead of their Week 9 matchup with the Chargers on Nov. 6. While Patterson remains out for at least one more game, however, the Falcons will likely turn to rookie Tyler Allgeier to headline their backfield this Sunday against the Panthers.

Impact Terrell suffered a hamstring injury in Week 7 versus the Bengals and is week-to-week according to head coach Arthur Smith. He'll likely have to return to practice in some form Thursday to have a shot at playing Sunday against the Panthers. If Terrell can't go in the contest, Dee Alford (hamstring) and Darren Hall could step into more significant roles.

Impact Terrell's hamstring injury appears to be more severe than that of fellow Falcons cornerback Dee Alford, whom Smith termed day-to-day. Both cornerbacks were injured in Atlanta's 35-17 loss to Cincinnati. If Terrell can't play against the Panthers in Week 8, that would open up more space for Carolina's No. 1 receiver DJ Moore.
