AJ Pollock - Exits lineup Sunday Pollock was removed from Sunday's Cactus League lineup against the Rangers.
Impact There's been no announcement of an injury to this point, so Pollock's removal from the starting nine may have nothing to do with his health. Barring an update from the team, the veteran outfielder should be expected to return to game action within a day or two.

MARCH 12 • NEWSOBSERVER.COM
Chris Flexen - Impressive thus far in spring Flexen has allowed one run on eight hits and two walks while recording six strikeouts across 8.1 innings in three Cactus League appearances.
Impact The veteran right-hander worked all the way up to 50 pitches in his most recent outing Saturday against the Rockies as he continues to try and make a case for a back-end rotation spot. Flexen's 8-9 record last season was, on the surface, a step back from his career-best 14-6 mark in 2021. However, the 28-year-old's 3.73 ERA was his second straight sub-4.00 mark and was only slightly higher than the career-low 3.61 figure he'd generated a season prior.

Taylor Trammell - Progressing in recovery Trammell (hand) is making solid progress in his recovery from February hamate bone surgery, the team's official site reports.
Impact Manager Scott Servais notes Trammell is "probably three weeks away, something like that," from being able to swing a bat. The Mariners' skipper noted Trammell is focused on ensuring he regains his strength in both the wrist and hand before he gets more aggressive in his activity level. If he continues recovering at a similar pace and without setbacks, Trammell could conceivably make his season debut before the end of April.

Cade Marlowe - Optioned to Triple-A Marlowe (oblique) was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.
Impact Marlowe is on Seattle's 40-man roster but entered spring a long shot at best to claim an Opening Day roster spot. His mild right oblique strain has officially taken him out of contention. In 133 games across the two highest levels of the minors last season, Marlowe hit .289 with 23 home runs and 42 stolen bases, though just 13 of those games came at the Triple-A level.

Andrés Muñoz - Nearing game action Munoz (ankle) threw a live batting practice session Friday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports reports.
Impact Munoz will throw one more live batting practice session before making an appearance in a Cactus League contest. The right-hander underwent foot surgery in the offseason, and the team is being conservative to make sure there's no setback. Munoz was dominant in 2022, and while he may not see the bulk of the save opportunities this season, he's the rare reliever who can be relevant in fantasy without them because of his ability to miss bats.

Casey Sadler - Throws live batting practice Sadler (shoulder) completed his first live bullpen session of the spring Friday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports reports.
Impact Sadler is working his way back from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022 season. The right-hander was dominant in 2021 with a miniscule 0.67 ERA over his 40.1 innings of work, and if healthy, he could be a bridge to the late-inning duo of Paul Sewald and Andres Munoz. Because of his missed time this spring, however, there's a good chance Sadler won't be ready to join the bullpen until after Opening Day.

Cooper Hummel - Could play several spots in 2023 Mariners manager Scott Servais mentioned Friday that Hummel will start moving around the field in upcoming Cactus League games, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Hummel has been focused on catching in the early part of camp, but the team wants to see him at several spots in the second half of the Cactus League schedule. Acquired from the Diamondbacks in the Kyle Lewis deal, Hummel will likely be the third catching option behind Cal Raleigh and Tom Murphy, but he could also see playing time at the corner outfield and infield positions.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Jack Larsen - Fracture will require surgery Larsen's fractured hamate bone will require surgery, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Larsen was playing well as a non-roster invitee in camp and had a slim chance of winning one of the backup spots on the Seattle bench for Opening day. When he returns, it will now all but assuredly be at Triple-A Tacoma.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Cade Marlowe - MRI shows mild oblique strain Marlowe was diagnosed Friday with a mild right oblique strain, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
Impact Marlowe left Thursday's exhibition game against Team Canada after experiencing discomfort in his right oblique, and an MRI taken Friday revealed the mild strain. It's not the worst possible diagnosis, but the 25-year-old speedster now seems more certain to begin his 2023 campaign back at Triple-A Tacoma. He'll meet with the Mariners' medical staff this weekend to come up with a treatment plan.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Isaiah Campbell - Optioned to Double-A Campbell was optioned to Double-A Arkansas on Friday, Corey Brock of The Athletic reports.
Impact Campbell recorded a 1.57 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 46 innings between High-A and Double-A ball last season. He possesses elite strikeout stuff (10.9 career K/9) and could break into Triple-A before the end of the season.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Jonatan Clase - Optioned to High-A Clase was optioned to High-A Everett by the Mariners on Friday.
Impact Clase is a highly regarded outfield prospect but doesn't have any experience above Single-A. The 20-year-old will look to take the next step in his development in 2023 after posting an .836 OPS with 55 steals in 65 attempts for Single-A Modesto in 2022.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Jack Larsen - Has hamate bone injury Larsen is dealing with a hamate bone injury, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
Impact It's an injury which usually requires surgery, although that hasn't been confirmed yet. Larsen is in camp as a non-roster invitee and is likely slated for Triple-A Tacoma once healthy.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Cade Marlowe - Undergoing MRI on oblique Marlowe will undergo an MRI Friday to determine the severity of the oblique injury which forced him from Thursday's game, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
Impact Marlowe is in the running for an Opening Day roster spot, but even a mild oblique strain would surely rule him out. More should be known about the young outfielder's status over the weekend.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
J.P. Crawford - Solid at plate this spring Crawford is hitting .267 (3-for-15) with two RBI, three walks and three runs across seven Cactus League games thus far.
Impact Crawford has yet to provide an extra-base hit, but he's been a fairly constant presence on the basepaths and has only struck out twice. The veteran shortstop saw a 30-point drop in batting average last season after a career-best .273 figure in 2021, but that also came with a 45-point reduction in BABIP from .320 to .275. Additionally, Crawford lowered his strikeout rate to a career-low 13.3 percent and walked at his highest clip (11.3 percent) since his initial 23-game big-league cup of coffee back in 2017. An uptick in luck when putting the ball in play could see his average bounce back in 2023.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
Eugenio Suárez - Modest start to spring Suarez is hitting .214 (3-for-14) with a double, a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base and four runs across six Cactus League games thus far.
Impact Suarez last appeared in Cactus League action Saturday, as he's currently toiling for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic. The slugger has struck out eight times in 15 spring training plate appearances overall, so he's certainly been more famine than feast at the plate thus far. However, Suarez managed to deliver 31 homers for the second straight season during his 2022 Mariners debut campaign despite posting a career-high 31.2 percent strikeout rate, so the poor contact won't necessarily impede his power numbers if it remains similarly elevated.

Cade Marlowe - Exits with oblique injury Marlowe departed Thursday's exhibition game versus Team Canada with mild oblique soreness, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
Impact Marlowe struck out in his lone plate appearance before exiting. The 25-year-old has had a strong spring and has been talked up as a potential darkhorse to crack the Opening Day roster, so this is unfortunate timing. More should be known about Marlowe's status in the coming days.
