Impact Edwards departed Saturday's game due to discomfort in his left thumb, which was initially checked out after hitting a foul ball. The 27-year-old returned from the injured list last weekend after missing two weeks due to a sprain in the same thumb, so he may have aggravated the injury. Jakob Marsee - Rattles off three hits Marsee went 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.
Impact Marsee has gone 9-for-17 over five games on the Padres' current road trip. The outfielder is now batting .232 with a .710 OPS, 11 home runs, 23 stolen bases, 39 RBI, 80 runs scored, 19 doubles and six triples through 149 contests. Marsee maintains strong plate discipline, but his batted-ball luck has faltered over a larger sample in 2026 -- he has a .285 BABIP this year compared to a .357 mark in 55 games in 2025.

He is seeing the bulk of the playing time in left field.

Esteury Ruiz - Racks up three steals Ruiz went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and three stolen bases in Saturday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.
Impact Ruiz made the most of his time on base, but he wasn't able to cross the plate. The speedy outfielder continues to work in a part-time role. He has gone 22 contests without a multi-hit effort, collecting four steals on six attempts in that span. For the season, Ruiz is batting .223 with a .725 OPS, six home runs, 16 RBI, 36 runs scored, 12 doubles, one triple and 33 steals over 235 plate appearances.

Griffin Conine - Forces extras Saturday Conine went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Padres.
Impact Conine took Mason Miller deep in the ninth inning to force an extra inning. In September, Conine has gone 16-for-59 (.271) over 17 contests. The 29-year-old is now batting .256 with an .835 OPS, 17 homers, 39 RBI, 42 runs scored, eight doubles and four stolen bases over 296 plate appearances this season.

Impact Lopez has gone 19-for-50 (.380) over his last 13 contests, hitting safely in 11 of them. This was his first homer since Aug. 30 versus the Nationals. The infielder is batting .307 with a .794 OPS, 11 homers, 71 RBI, 91 runs scored, 32 stolen bases, 32 doubles and nine triples over 151 contests.

Eury Pérez - Late-season fade continues Perez allowed five runs on eight hits, three walks and a hit batsman while striking out four over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Saturday.
Impact Perez has given up 26 runs (24 earned) over his last 21.1 innings across five starts. He's also surrendered seven home runs in that span after giving up solo shots to Samad Taylor and Fernando Tatis in this contest. The late fade has put Perez at a 4.17 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 159:67 K:BB through 149 innings over 28 starts -- he had carried a 3.17 ERA prior to his recent poor stretch of pitching. He's well over his previous high mark for innings, which was 128 in 2023 before Tommy John surgery wiped out his 2024 campaign. Perez is projected for one more start this season, which is lined up to be at home versus Atlanta.

Xavier Edwards - Leaves early Saturday Edwards left Saturday's game against the Padres in the seventh inning with an apparent left hand injury, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact Edwards was checked out by a trainer after a foul ball during his plate appearance in the top of the seventh, and while he stayed in the game initially, the second baseman was replaced on defense the next half-inning. He just recently returned from a left thumb sprain and De Nicola speculates Edwards might have aggravated that injury.

Impact Phillips put in a good performance but exited at 50 pitches (31 strikes). He's now at 122.2 innings this season -- he worked 155.1 frames in 2024 but just 77.2 innings as a reliever in 2025, so it's possible the Marlins are managing his workload a bit. The 28-year-old is now at a 3.45 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 99:52 K:BB over 36 appearances (19 starts) this year. He's tentatively projected for one more start in 2026, which is lined up to be on the road against the Cubs.
