Heriberto Hernández - Likely to cede starts to Stowers Hernandez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
Impact Hernandez had started in left field in 13 of the Marlins' first 21 games of the season, but after posting a lowly .443 OPS in 60 plate appearances, he'll likely see his playing time against right-handed pitching take a big hit with Kyle Stowers (hamstring) making his return from the injured list Sunday. Stowers is expected to take over as an everyday player in left field, so moving forward, Hernandez looks as though he may have to settle for a short-side platoon role in right field or at designated hitter.

Graham Pauley - Good to go Sunday Pauley (oblique) is starting at third base and batting ninth Sunday against the Brewers.
Impact The 25-year-old picked up an oblique injury Friday versus Milwaukee and was held out of Saturday's contest, but he'll return to the lineup Sunday for the series finale. Pauley has yet to get on track at the plate this season with no homers, a 1:13 BB:K and .174/.191/.304 slash line through 68 plate appearances.

Kyle Stowers - Back from injured list The Marlins reinstated Stowers (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
Impact Stowers sustained the hamstring strain during the closing days of spring training -- after dealing with a similar injury earlier in camp -- and is ready to make his 2026 MLB debut after a five-game rehab assignment. The 28-year-old is expected to reclaim the starting job in left field and could also get some reps at first base. Regardless of where he's playing in the field, he should have plenty of RBI opportunities batting in the heart of Miami's lineup.

Sandy Alcantara - Control issues in Saturday's loss Alcantara (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing three runs on five hits and six walks while striking out one batter across five innings.
Impact Alcantara struggled with his command during Saturday's outing, resulting in at least two Brewers batters reaching base safely in four of five innings. He escaped a bases-loaded situation unscathed in the third but gave up his first run in the fourth before yielding a three-run homer to Brice Turang in the fifth frame. Alcantara had as many walks against Milwaukee as he did across his first four starts of the regular season. It was also the first time he did not complete the sixth inning this season, and he now sits with a 3.06 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB across 35.1 innings. Alcantara will look to snap out of his two-game losing streak in his next start, which is slated for next weekend on the road against the Giants.

Kyle Stowers - Returning Sunday Manager Clayton McCullough said Saturday that Stowers (hamstring) will return from the injured list Sunday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Impact After playing five rehab games at Triple-A Jacksonville, Stowers returned to Miami on Saturday to be evaluated by the team. Now that he's been given a clean bill of health, the 28-year-old will officially make his season debut in Sunday's series finale against Milwaukee. He will reclaim his place as Miami's primary left fielder, though the Marlins also plan to give him a few reps at first base.

Impact Oblique discomfort forced Pauley to make an early exit from Friday's contest and will officially keep him out of Saturday's game as well. In the meantime, Javier Sanoja will start at the hot corner for Miami.

Impact Tasked with protecting a 4-4 tie, Faucher instead loaded the bases with nobody out before a throwing error by Xavier Edwards and then a double by Garrett Mitchell brought all three runners home. Faucher has had a very shaky start to the season, stumbling to a 6.43 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 11:8 K:BB through eight appearances and seven innings, and he could be slipping into a low-leverage role as a result -- his only hold so far in 2026 came back on April 5.
