Otto Lopez - Powers offense in loss
Lopez went 3-for-5 with a home run, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-5 extra-inning loss to the Brewers.
Impact
Lopez finished the night a double shy of the cycle, highlighted by a 401-foot homer in the sixth inning. It continued a torrid start for the 27-year-old, who has now hit safely in 16 of 19 games to open the campaign while posting eight multi-hit efforts. Overall, he's slashing .347/.400/.583 with nine extra-base hits, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored and three steals across 80 plate appearances.

Janson Junk - One poor inning in no-decision
Junk did not factor into the decision in Friday's 7-5 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 5.1 i...
Impact
Junk was mostly done in by a three-run fourth inning before allowing another run in the sixth. After opening the season with consecutive two-run efforts, the 30-year-old has now allowed nine runs (seven earned) over his last two outings. He owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB across 22 innings to open the year and lines up for a home matchup against the Cardinals next week.

Graham Pauley - Exits early Friday
Pauley was removed from Friday's game against the Brewers with an apparent injury, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Pauley took a pitch high and tight in the seventh inning, and although it didn't hit him, he seemingly tweaked something while moving out of the way of the ball. The details of his injury remain unknown, but if Pauley ends up having to miss time, Javier Sanoja would be the favorite to begin starting at third base for Miami.

Kyle Stowers - Return considered imminent
Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said that Stowers (hamstring) will play another rehab game with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday before being evaluated for a potential return, Cr...
Impact
Stowers has gone just 2-for-15 with a 0:6 BB:K in his first four rehab contests, but it sounds like his season debut is imminent as long as he checks out physically. The 2025 All-Star has been out all season with a right hamstring strain. All three of Stowers' starts in the field on his rehab assignment have been in left field, and that will be his primary position once he's activated. However, the plan is to get him some occasional reps at first base, as well.

Hernandez is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers.
Impact
Hernandez is slashing only .149/.259/.191 this season and will begin Friday's series opener on the bench. The Marlins will go with Javier Sanoja in left field.

Liam Hicks - Swats fourth homer
Hicks went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's loss to Atlanta.
Impact
The 26-year-old backstop had gone 12 straight games without leaving the yard after a power surge in the first week of the season, but Hicks got hold of an Osvaldo Bido slider in the eighth inning Wednesday and ripped it down the right-field line for his fourth homer of the year. Hicks has been playing nearly every day between catcher (10 games), first base (six games) and DH (three games), slashing .309/.355/.545 with a stunning 18 RBI, two behind MLB leader Andy Pages.

Chris Paddack - Chased in fifth inning in loss
Paddack (0-3) took the loss Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
Impact
Paddack held Atlanta in check for the most part, but he wasn't particularly efficient with his pitch count. The right-hander couldn't get through the fifth inning, finishing with 92 pitches and failing to pitch at least five innings for the third time in four starts to begin the year. Paddack appears to have a soft matchup against the Cardinals in his next scheduled start, but he still won't be a recommended fantasy option in most cases while carrying a 5.59 ERA and 1.45 WHIP across his first 19.1 innings.
