Impact The right-hander delivered his fifth quality start in his last six outings and 12th of the season, but the Cincy offense didn't even manage a hit until the eighth inning, giving Castillo no margin for error. He'll carry a 4.51 ERA and 138:59 K:BB through 137.2 innings into his next start.

Continues to lower ERA Castillo (6-10) allowed one run on six hits and a walk in six innings, striking out seven and earning the win in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Twins.
Impact The only damage Minnesota mustered against Castillo was a first-inning home run by Jorge Polanco. With Wednesday's performance, the righty has a 5-2 record, 1.94 ERA and 10 quality starts in 12 outings since the beginning of June. On May 29, Castillo had taken his seventh consecutive loss and had an ERA of 7.22. Though it took a couple months for him to get there, the 28-year-old has blossomed into the dominant ace he was expected to be this season. Castillo will bring a 4.09 ERA and 1.39 WHIP into his next start Monday in Cleveland.

Hurls quality start against Cubs Castillo (5-10) earned the win Thursday against the Cubs after allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while fanning eight across six innings.
Impact Castillo has been nothing short of dominant in recent weeks, and he hurled his ninth quality start in 11 appearances since the beginning of June. The right-hander, who endured a tough start to the campaign, has won his last two decisions and owns a 1.95 ERA and 1.11 WHIP through that 11-game stretch.

Continues dominant run Castillo (4-10) earned the win over St. Louis on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out nine across seven innings.
Impact Castillo fell behind by a run in the second inning, but that ended up being the only score the Cardinals could muster against the right-hander in the contest. Castillo registered an impressive 23 swings-and-misses in the outing and finished with his highest strikeout total since May 18. He has allowed one or zero runs in six of his past eight outings, bringing his ERA down from 6.47 to 4.20 over that stretch. His next start is expected to take place in Chicago against the Cubs on Thursday.
JULY 25, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Provides six shutout innings Castillo tossed six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and three walks with eight strikeouts Saturday against Milwaukee.
Impact Castillo turned in his sixth quality start in his last seven outings, logging his best strikeout total since May 18 in the process. A lack of run support kept his record at a dismal 2-10, but Castillo has completely turned his season around since the start of June, spinning a 1.76 ERA with 56 strikeouts in 56.1 innings over his last nine starts. He's slated to face the Cubs at Wrigley field next week.

Walks six in no-decision Castillo allowed one run on six walks and three hits over 5.1 innings in Sunday's win over Milwaukee. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.
Impact Castillo struggled with his command all day, needing 102 pitches (55 strikes) to get through 5.1 frames. He left with a 1-0 lead but Amir Garrett let an inherited runner score to tie things up in the sixth. Castillo had finished at least six innings in his previous five starts and has failed to factor in the decision in three straight outings. He lowered his ERA to 4.65 through 102.2 innings.
JULY 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Strong start wasted Castillo allowed a run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings, but he took a no-decision versus Kansas City on Tuesday.
Impact The only blemish on Castillo's line was a Michael Taylor solo home run, but Cincinnati's bullpen blew a five-run lead in the final two innings. Since the start of June, Castillo has posted quality starts in six of his last seven outings. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 4.81 with a 1.40 WHIP and 90:39 K:BB through 97.1 innings overall. His last start of the first half is expected to come this weekend in Milwaukee.

Blanks Atlanta for third win Castillo (3-10) picked up the win in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Atlanta, allowing six hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out six.
Impact The right-hander finally appears to have turned the corner after his rough beginning to the season. Castillo has delivered quality starts in four of his last five trips to the mound, blanking the opposition in two of them, and he sports a 1.71 ERA and 32:12 K:BB through 31.2 innings over that stretch.
JUNE 27, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Hits double-digit losses Castillo (2-10) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out seven over six innings as he took the loss to the Padres on Sunday.
Impact All three runs Castillo gave up came off one swing. Wil Myers came up with two men on in the third and cleared the bases with a triple off the right field wall. He ended up scoring on the play due to a throwing error when the Reds tried to get him out stretching for three. Castillo pitched well enough for the win but will now stand at 10 losses after a horrible first two months of the season. He's rebounded well over his last four starts with a 2.19 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB over 24.2 innings. The 28-year-old currently lines up to pitch against Atlanta over the weekend.

Shuts down Brewers in no-decision Castillo didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Brewers, allowing three hits and three walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.
Impact It was one of the right-hander's best performances of the season as he threw 64 of 109 pitches for strikes, but neither team was able to put runs on the board until the 10th inning, denying Castillo a win for his efforts. It was only his third quality start of the year, but two of them have come in three June trips to the mound as he's showing signs of putting his poor first couple of months behind him. Over those three outings, Castillo has a 1.93 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB through 18.2 innings.
JUNE 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Strapped with tough loss Castillo (2-9) was charged with the loss against the Brewers on Thursday after allowing three runs on one hit and three walks while striking out seven over 5.2 innings.
Impact It wasn't the cleanest first inning for Castillo, who opened the game by hitting a batter while also issuing a walk and giving up an RBI single to Avisail Garcia. The right-hander responded well, however, retiring 11 straight and pitching a 0-2 count on seven of his 15 hitters faced before heading into a 37-minute rain delay after the fourth. Upon returning, Castillo retired four more batters before running into trouble. After the 28-year-old issued two walks and worked for a 10-pitch strikeout, he was pulled in favor of Lucas Sims, who allowed both inherited runners to score. On the season, Castillo has compiled a 6.47 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. He lines up to get another chance with the Brewers on the road next week.
