Gets no run support in loss Gilbert (13-7) took the loss against Texas on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings.
Impact Gilbert wasn't exactly impressive in the outing, notching twice as many walks (four) as punchouts (two), though one of the free passes was intentional. Still, the right-hander fell one out shy of a quality start and kept Seattle in the contest despite a listless performance by the team's offense. Gilbert was tagged with his second straight loss after going 8-0 over 13 games between July 4 and Sept. 11. He lines up for one more regular-season start, tentatively slated as a rematch with Texas late next week, this time in Seattle.

Yields five runs in loss Gilbert (13-6) allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Dodgers.
Impact The loss was Gilbert's first since June 28, and this was just the fourth time in 30 starts he's allowed five or more runs. The Dodgers got to him early, as they scored four times over the first two innings, helped by home runs from Jason Heyward and Austin Barnes. Despite the poor start, Gilbert is still at a solid 3.77 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP and 182:32 K:BB through 179 innings this season. He's projected for a road start versus the Rangers in his next outing.

Ranking MLB's 20 best veteran bargains: Which players most outperform their pay?
Solid in no-decision Gilbert allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Monday.
Impact Gilbert was mostly solid aside from a pair of home runs by Logan O'Hoppe that accounted for all three runs on the Seattle starter's line. Gilbert has four quality starts in his last five outings, and he hasn't taken a loss since June 28. He's at a 3.62 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 176:31 K:BB through 174 innings over 29 starts this season. The 26-year-old is projected for a tough home start against the Dodgers this weekend.

Fans nine in 13th win Gilbert (13-5) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in an 8-4 victory over the Reds. He struck out nine.
Impact The right-hander won his eighth straight decision, a streak that dates back to the beginning of July, with another strong performance that saw him generate 37 called or swinging strikes among his 96 pitches. Gilbert sports a 2.89 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 78:11 K:BB through 74.2 innings over the course of his undefeated streak, and his next win will establish a new career high at 14. He'll look for it in his next start, likely to come at home early next week against the Angels.

Impact The right-hander served up his third straight quality start but failed to come up with his third victory in that span thanks to the dominance of opposing starter Kodai Senga. Gilbert pounded 67 of his 97 pitches in for strikes while making just one major mistake in the form of a sixth-inning, game-tying solo home run by Brandon Nimmo. He has now allowed three runs or less in six of his last seven turns, a stretch in which he boasts a 4-0 mark, 2.70 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 9.6 K/9 across 43.1 innings. Gilbert's next opportunity to get back in the win column arrives in a tough road matchup against the Reds next week.
SEPTEMBER 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Brilliant in blowout Gilbert (12-5) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on two hits over seven innings against the Royals. He struck out seven and walked one.
Impact Gilbert dominated the Royals on Saturday, needing just 83 pitches to complete seven dazzling innings in a blowout victory. The 26-year-old right-hander's only blemish came on a Drew Waters solo shot in the 5th inning. Gilbert has recorded a quality start in five of his last six outings, compiling a record of 4-0 with a 2.95 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB across 36.2 innings during that stretch. Gilbert is projected to make a road start against the Mets next week.

Picks up another victory Gilbert (11-5) earned the win Saturday, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings against the Astros. He struck out three.
Impact Gilbert turned in his fourth quality start of his last five appearances, allowing two runners to score despite surrendering eight hits Saturday. The win was his 11th of the campaign -- tied for the 10th most in MLB -- and marked his ninth consecutive start that didn't result in a loss. Over that stretch, Gilbert owns a 3.07 ERA and a 53:8 K:BB in 55.2 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start against the Royals, who chased him after 4.1 innings the last time they met.
AUGUST 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Coughs up four runs Gilbert yielded four runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings in Monday's loss to the Royals. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.
Impact Most of the damage against Gilbert came in the first inning when he was tagged with a three-run shot by Salvador Perez. Since the start of July, Gilbert has posted a 3.08 ERA with a 50:7 K:BB across 49.2 frames. Through 24 starts this year, he's sporting a 3.80 ERA with a 143:26 K:BB. Gilbert's next outing is lined up to be in Houston this weekend.
AUGUST 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dominant in Tuesday's win Gilbert (10-5) struck out 12 and didn't walk a batter over seven innings of one-hit, shutout ball to earn the win Tuesday over the Padres.
Impact Gilbert's 12 strikeouts were a career high and just the second time he's reached double-digits this season. It was one of his sharpest outings and his third consecutive quality start. The 26-year-old right-hander trimmed his ERA to 3.66 with a 1.02 WHIP and 138:24 K:BB through 137.2 innings over 23 starts. He's lined up for a favorable road start in Kansas City next week.

Solid in no-decision Gilbert did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over six innings against the Red Sox. He struck out five.
Impact Jarren Duran's two-run homer in the third inning was the lone blemish on Gilbert's line Wednesday. The 26-year-old right-hander has held opponents to two runs or fewer in five of his last six starts -- he's 4-0 with a 2.82 ERA in that span (38.1 innings). Overall, Gilbert is 9-5 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 126:24 K:BB across 22 starts (130.2 innings) this season. He's currently slated for a home matchup with the Padres in his next outing.
AUGUST 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Earns ninth win Gilbert (9-5) allowed two runs on nine hits and struck out five without walking a batter over 6.1 innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Impact Gilbert picked up his fourth win in his last five outings, and this was his third quality start in that span. The one knock on his performance was allowing a season-high nine hits. He's given up some lofty hit numbers lately -- he's allowed eight or more hits in four of his last nine outings -- but he was able to work around trouble Friday. The right-hander is now at a 3.83 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 121:21 K:BB through 124.2 innings over 21 starts. He's projected for a home start versus the Red Sox next week.
JULY 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Escapes with no-decision Gilbert didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 9-8 win over the Blue Jays, giving up five runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out five.
Impact The right-hander was looking sharp through four innings but the wheels came off in the fifth, as Gilbert served up homers to Kevin Kiermaier, Brandon Belt and Vladimir Guerrero before exiting in line for his sixth loss. Fortunately for the Mariners, they had their own offensive outburst in the seventh. Gilbert hadn't been taken deep multiple times since June 11, and in the six starts between those performances he posted a 2.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB through 39.1 innings. He'll look to regain that form in his next outing, which is likely to come next weekend in Arizona.
JULY 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Goes five innings in win Gilbert (8-5) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings to earn the win Monday over the Twins.
Impact Gilbert got a little extra time off when the Mariners reordered their rotation after the All-Star break. He was able to pick up his fourth win in his last five outings, but it was a bit shakier of a performance than usual for the right-hander. He's still allowed just eight runs over his last 34 innings. For the season, Gilbert owns a 3.65 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 111:20 K:BB through 113.1 innings over 19 starts. He's lined up for a home start versus the Blue Jays this weekend.
JULY 18, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not expected to start this weekend Gilbert does not currently project to start this weekend against the Tigers, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Impact Luis Castillo and George Kirby are confirmed for the first two games coming out of the All-Star break, and manager Scott Servais said the team will "likely" go with Bryce Miller (blister) on Sunday. That pushes Gilbert back to Monday at home against the Twins, followed by a second home start next weekend against the Blue Jays. Gilbert has posted a 3.05 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB over his last seven starts (44.1 innings).
JULY 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Closes first half out with win Gilbert (7-5) got the win against the Astros on Sunday, allowing an earned run on three hits over seven innings. He struck out six and hit a batter.
Impact Coming off his complete-game gem against the Giants on Tuesday, Gilbert managed an impressive encore performance versus a dangerous lineup. The right-hander got 63 of his 94 pitches in for strikes during his efficient performance, giving wins in consecutive decisions for the first time since late May. The 26-year-old appears to be hitting his stride after a couple of hiccups in late May and early June, as he heads into the All-Star break having surrendered two earned runs or less in four of his last five starts.
