Turns in quality outing
Gilbert did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over six innings against the Athletics. He struck out six.
Impact
Gilbert pitched as well as fantasy managers could've hoped for, keeping Oakland in the park and posting a 3:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. The right-hander has proven to be a solid option, sporting a 1.07 WHIP to go along with 40 strikeouts. The 25-year-old is tentatively slated to face the Rangers at home in his next start.

Gives up four in no-decision
Gilbert did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over five innings against Philadelphia. He struck out six.
Impact
The Phillies hit Gilbert early, as Nick Castellanos swatted a two-run homer in the first before a Kyle Schwarber single plated Bryson Stott in the third. Wednesday's start marked Gilbert's second straight appearance allowing four runs, while his seven hits given up set a season-high. Fantasy managers saving grace has been Gilbert's reliable strikeout production, as the 25-year-old has recorded at least six strikeouts in all of his appearances so far.

Confirmed for Wednesday
Gilbert (shoulder) is confirmed to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Impact
Heading into the week, Gilbert had been in line to start Tuesday, but the Mariners opted to flip him in the pitching schedule with Marco Gonzales after Gilbert felt muscle spasms in the scapula area while he was working out Sunday. Fortunately for Gilbert, the shoulder issue doesn't seem to have prevented him from making his between-starts bullpen session, so he shouldn't face any major restrictions while he returns to the hill Wednesday on seven days' rest.

Pushed back due to muscle spasms
Gilbert's start was pushed back to Wednesday because he felt muscle spasms by his scapula while working out Sunday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact
Gilbert was supposed to take the hill against the Phillies on Tuesday, but the Mariners will have the right-hander move back a day as a precautionary move. Divish notes that the right-hander threw in Philadelphia on Monday and felt fine, but the Mariners won't take any chances with the 25-year-old. Marco Gonzales is starting Tuesday's series opener in Gilbert's absence.

Pushed back a day
Gilbert's next start will be pushed back a day and he will now take the ball Wednesday in Philadelphia, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact
Seattle has decided to flip-flop Gilbert and Marco Gonzales, who will move up a day to start Tuesday. Gilbert will now go more than a week between starts after he allowed four runs over six frames against Milwaukee last Tuesday.

Fans eight in no-decision
Gilbert struck out eight and gave up four runs on five hits and no walks across six innings during Tuesday's 11-inning loss to the Brewers. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact
The 25-year-old appeared poised for a brief outing as he gave up three runs and labored through the first three frames, but he rebounded strong with the only baserunner allowed over the next three innings being a solo homer by Willy Adames. Gilbert generated just eight swinging strikes but kept the Brewers guessing and had 25 called strikes, and he has recorded at least six strikeouts in all four of his starts this season. The right-hander will carry a 3.57 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 28:4 K:BB across 22.2 frames into his next outing, which projects to come next week in Philadelphia.

Strikes out seven in first win
Gilbert (1-1) earned the win Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over 6.2 innings in a 5-2 victory over the Cubs. He struck out seven.
Impact
Gilbert allowed back-to-back singles to Nico Hoerner and Nick Madrigal to start his outing, with the former coming around to score on a sacrifice fly by Cody Bellinger, but he settled down after that and retired 12 straight batters, including four consecutive strikeouts, before Miles Mastrobuoni reached on a two-out single in the fifth. The right-hander got into trouble again in the seventh after allowing a leadoff single to Bellinger and walking Patrick Wisdom, but he was replaced with two outs by Matt Brash, who got Mastrobuoni on a groundout to end the inning. Through three starts (16.2 innings), Gilbert has allowed five runs on 14 hits and four walks while striking out 19.

Strikes out six in no decision
Gilbert did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks over four innings in a 5-3 win over the Guardians. He struck out six.
Impact
Gilbert allowed one run in three of his four innings, but he salvaged his outing with six strikeouts and was let off the hook for the loss as Seattle scored the final five runs of the contest. Across his first two starts, the right-hander has given up four runs across 10 innings and sports a strong 13:3 K:BB.

Takes loss despite quality start
Gilbert (0-1) was tagged with the loss Saturday against Cleveland, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over six innings.
Impact
Gilbert was excellent in his season debut, tossing 64 of 85 pitches for strikes and limiting the Guardians to just a fourth-inning run. However, Seattle couldn't manage to push any runs over the plate, saddling the right-hander with the loss. Gilbert -- and his fantasy managers -- nonetheless should walk away from this performance with plenty of positive takeaways, and there's certainly reason to believe that the third-year hurler can build upon his strong 2022 campaign during which he posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 174:49 K:BB over 185.2 frames. His next outing this season is tentatively slated to be a rematch against Cleveland next week.

Impresses in Monday's start
Gilbert was credited with a win in Monday's Cactus League victory over the Brewers, firing four scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and recorded five strikeouts.
Impact
Gilbert's most impressive spring training outing yet saw him match the four innings he'd worked his last time out against the Royals, except the right-hander kept his scorecard free of any runs after giving up to two to Kansas City. Gilbert now has a 3.55 ERA and 1.03 WHIP across 12.2 innings in Cactus League play, and Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports the 25-year-old was particularly happy with how his new split-changeup continued to progress. "That was probably one of the best days I felt with it," Gilbert said of his new pitch. "If it stays where it was today, I would be thrilled with it for sure."
