Dodgers get the best of Giants in first of many 2022 battles
Suffers first loss Rodon (3-1) took the loss during Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in six innings.
Impact Rodon pitched well despite the loss Tuesday, surrendering both runs on a Chris Taylor single in the second inning and recording his third quality start in five turns. The two earned runs mark a season high while the five total baserunners match one as Rodon has now permitted two walks in every start as well as three hits in all but one. The biggest difference Tuesday was the decline to three strikeouts from an average of 9.5 through his first four turns. Rodon will most likely make another start this weekend against St. Louis.

What's behind Kyle Wright's sudden breakout for Braves?
Continues impressive April Rodon (3-0) registered the win during Tuesday's 8-2 victory over Oakland, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in six innings.
Impact Rodon brought his top-tier stuff for the fourth time in as many games this season and cruised to an easy victory following six strong innings. The first-year-Giant has now struck out at least eight batters while allowing no more than one run in all four starts this season and ranks among the league leaders in most major pitching categories, with his 38 strikeouts leading second-place Corbin Burnes by five. Rodon will look to carry over his exceptional April performance on Tuesday against the Dodgers.

As White Sox struggle out of the gate, is it already time to panic?
Starting Tuesday Rodon is starting Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact Rodon initially lined up to start Monday's road matchup in Milwaukee, but he'll get an extra day of rest while Sam Long takes the mound against the Brewers. Rodon has earned wins in two of his three starts this year and has posted a 1.06 ERA and 0.82 WHIP in 17 innings.

Dominates again in win Rodon (2-0) earned the win over the Mets on Wednesday, completing five scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and two walks while striking out eight.
Impact Rodon continued to impress in his third start for San Francisco, earning his second victory with five scoreless frames. The southpaw kept Mets hitters on their toes throughout the outing, inducing 19 swinging strikes. He has yet to allow more than three hits in an appearance and has struck out at least eight batters in each of his starts thus far. Perhaps the only disappointing development from a fantasy perspective is that the veteran hurler ran his pitch count up to 95 through five innings Wednesday, preventing him from going out for the sixth with the chance for a quality start. Rodon is building upon last season's breakout campaign with a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB through 17 frames. His next start is expected to take place in Milwaukee on Monday.

Fans nine in win Rodon (1-0) allowed one run on two hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out nine and earning a win over the Guardians.
Impact Rodon tossed six shutout frames, yielding just one hit, one walk and a hit batter during that stretch. The only damage against him was a seventh-inning sacrifice fly by Owen Miller. Rodon forced nine whiffs and got 22 called strikes, throwing 90 total pitches in the outing. The 29-year-old is sporting a 21:4 K:BB and a 1.50 ERA through 12 innings. He's expected to face the Mets in New York his next time out.

Fans 12 in Giants debut Rodon didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Marlins, giving up one run on three hits and two walks over five innings while striking out 12.
Impact Making his Giants debut after signing a two-year deal with the club in the offseason, Rodon mowed down the Marlins over 89 pitches (61 strikes), and only run he allowed came on a single, a throwing error and a wild pitch on a third strike to Jorge Soler. Rodon faces a familiar foe from his White Sox days in his next scheduled start, a road outing Friday in Cleveland.

Signs two-year deal with Giants Rodon signed a two-year, $44 million contract with the Giants on Friday which includes an opt-out after the first season, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The deal places Rodon in one of the best possible landing spots for any pitcher, as the Giants play in a pitcher-friendly park and have earned a reputation for getting the most out of their starters in recent years. That said, Rodon didn't seem to need much help making the most of his talents in 2021, as he's coming off a season in which he rode a 34.6 percent strikeout rate to a 2.37 ERA. Health is easily his most significant question mark, as he's battled arm troubles throughout his career and was used very cautiously by the White Sox down the stretch last season while he managed shoulder trouble.

Not extended qualifying offer Rodon didn't receive a qualifying offer from the White Sox, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Rodon bounced back in 2021 and posted a 2.37 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 132.2 innings across 24 starts for the White Sox. In spite of his career-best season, the 28-year-old will become a free agent without any draft pick penalty attached.

Takes loss in Game 4 Rodon (0-1) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday in Game 4 of the ALDS.
Impact As Russell Dorsey of The Chicago Sun-Times notes, Rodon was pitching at less than 100 percent after arm and shoulder trouble crept up over the final couple months of the regular season. You couldn't tell early on, as Rodon was pumping fastballs in the high 90s and looked dominant through two innings, though he was eventually touched up a bit in the third before his exit. This may very well have been Rodon's last start in a White Sox uniform; he's never going to be a workhorse, but Rodon pitched brilliantly in his 132.2 innings during the regular season and will likely have several multi-year offers in free agency.
