Carson Kelly - Not starting Sunday Kelly is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Impact The 29-year-old has worked as Arizona's primary backstop since Gabriel Moreno (shoulder) landed on the injured list, but Kelly has just a .174/.194/.232 slash line in 72 plate appearances this season. Jose Herrera will take over behind the plate for Sunday's series finale versus Seattle.

Cole Sulser - Comes off injured list The Diamondbacks reinstated Sulser (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Sunday.

Impact Sulser won a spot in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen but made just three appearances before landing on the IL on April 7 with a right shoulder strain. After a lengthy recovery followed by a near-month-long rehab assignment between the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and Triple-A Reno, Sulser is finally ready to rejoin the Diamondbacks. Even though Arizona's closing situation remains somewhat unsettled, Sulser isn't expected to factor into the late-inning mix right away and may have to settle for lower-leverage work initially.

Tommy Henry - Moved to IL with inflamed elbow The Diamondbacks placed Henry on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left elbow inflammation.

Impact With a 4.15 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 7.6 K-BB% over 89 innings this season, Henry was already miscast as a mid-rotation starter for the pitching-starved Diamondbacks, but his move to the IL is a huge loss nonetheless. Per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, manager Torey Lovullo said Henry won't require surgery after an MRI ruled out any structural damage to his elbow, but the southpaw will still be barred from throwing for about a week before Arizona outlines a more precise timeline for his return. Henry seems likely to spend more than the minimum 15 days on the shelf.

Dominic Canzone - Delivers key hit in win Canzone went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over Seattle.

Impact Canzone singled through a drawn-in infield to score Corbin Carroll from third base for the game-winning run in the top of the eighth inning. It was the third consecutive start for Canzone, who delivered two hits in all three with four RBI. All three starts have come at designated hitter, a position that's largely been handled by Lourdes Gurriel and Evan Longoria (back). Given Canzone's hot bat, along with Longoria on the injured and Gurriel slumping, he could get more opportunities in the short term.

Corbin Carroll - Ignites rally Carroll went 0-for-1 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over Seattle.

Impact Seattle reliever Andres Munoz walked Carroll to lead off the eighth inning, then balked him to second base before Carroll swiped third. That put him in position to come home on Dominic Canzone's single through a drawn-in infield. It was the 32nd steal of the season for Carroll, who's registered thefts in three consecutive games.

Impact Rojas returned to the majors after the Diamondbacks placed Evan Longoria (back) on the injured list Saturday. The lefty-hitting Rojas will share the hot corner with the righty-swinging Emmanuel Rivera, thought it's uncertain if it will be a strict right-lefty platoon.

Kevin Ginkel - Earns win Ginkel (4-0) struck out three over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win over Seattle on Saturday.

Impact Ginkel entered a tie game to begin the eighth inning and struck out the side before the Diamondbacks took the lead in the bottom of the frame. It looked like he'd finish the game, but manager Torey Lovullo pulled Ginkel after he quickly retired the first batter in the ninth. Andrew Chafin was brought in to nail down the save, but he allowed a triple and a walk before Scott McGough recorded the final out. After the game, Lovullo lamented to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic what he termed "overmanaging" in using more relievers than was necessary. "I'm trying to get everybody involved, get people in a game and get them on a roll," he said. With several members of the bullpen struggling of late -- including Chafin and McGough -- Ginkel has been rolling.

Scott McGough - Picks up save Saturday McGough earned a save against Seattle on Saturday, striking out the only batter he faced to close out the contest.

Impact Kevin Ginkel -- who had picked up each of Arizona's previous three saves -- was deployed in the eighth inning Saturday and was pulled with one out in the ninth despite retiring all four batters he faced. Arizona then turned to Andrew Chafin to close things out, but he allowed two of three hitters he saw to reach base, giving McGough the opportunity to close things out. The right-hander faced a tough test in Julio Rodriguez but managed to strike him out on the eighth pitch of the at-bat. This was a nice outing for McGough after he had allowed 11 runs over his previous 4.2 frames, but while there remains a closer committee of sorts in Arizona, Ginkel remains the favorite for saves and the best Diamondbacks reliever to roster from a fantasy perspective.

Brandon Pfaadt - Yields three runs against Seattle Pfaadt pitched 5.2 innings against the Mariners on Saturday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three batters in a no-decision.

Impact Pfaadt gave up a single run in each of the second, third and fourth frames, but Arizona chipped away and eventually took him off the hook for a loss. The rookie righty was pulled with two outs in the fifth, costing him a chance at a second straight quality start. Pfaadt was a popular name in fantasy circles coming into the season, but he's mostly struggled with an 8.20 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 30:11 K:BB over 37.1 innings on the campaign. He's been a little better in two starts since being recalled from the minors July 22, allowing six runs over 11.2 frames.

Impact The D-backs sent Rojas down to Triple-A in mid-June, and he's since slashed .259/.322/.389 with two homers and eight RBI across 59 plate appearances. He'll return to Arizona to take Evan Longoria's roster spot after Longoria landed on the IL with a back issue.
