Texas A&M regent wants Kyle Field named ‘House that Johnny Built’

Nobody can question the financial impact Johnny Manziel has made on Texas A&M.

Former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel had an eventful weekend by getting selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Back in his college town, there is also some news: Kyle Field’s renovations are chugging along, and the stadium will sparkle when the Aggies take the field this fall.

One other notable thing about the new Kyle Field?

A proposed name.

In an update Monday in College Station, Texas A&M regent Jim Schwertner suggested that the Aggies rename their stadium ‘Kyle Field: The House that Johnny Built.’

He’s kidding, right? Well, let’s turn it over to Brent Zwerneman, who covers the Aggies for the San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle.

Before proposing a name for the stadium, Schwertner thanked Manziel for getting the school the money to renovate Kyle Field, which is why he believes they should do something special for him.

"I hope the Aggie Nation will come together and decide that’s something they want to do," Schwertner said.

What do you think, Aggies fans: In favor of ‘The House that Johnny Built,’ or want to keep Kyle Field the way it is?
