(STATS) - South Dakota State senior Jacob Ohnesorge was named as the winner of the 2017 FCS Rimington Award, which recognizes the nation's outstanding center.

Ohnesorge, from Waunakee, Wisconsin, was a three-time All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection who ended his SDSU career making 53 consecutive starts. This year's team went 11-3 and reached the FCS semifinals.

He's the fifth winner from the MVFC.

The award, on the FCS level since 2003, is named for former Nebraska All-America center Dave Rimington.
