Projected starter moving forward With Julian Sayin (shoulder) projected to miss several weeks, coach Ryan Day has announced that Fahey will start in his absence, per Jake Trotter of ESPN.

Impact Although the announcement seemed firm from Day, the Buckeyes have a five-star recruit in Tavien St. Clair, whom many project to be the quarterback of the future in Columbus. Performs well in relief Fahey completed 4 of 5 passes for 141 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 59-3 win over Kent State.

Impact Although Fahey completed only four passes, he amassed a ton of yardage, including a 75-yard pass to Chris Henry. The easy part of Ohio State's schedule concluded with Saturday's game against Kent, so it's unlikely we'll see much of Fahey down the stretch unless Julian Sayin gets injured.

Steps in under center in blowout Fahey completed 5 of 6 passes for 62 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 56-3 victory against Ball State.

Impact Fahey came in for Julian Sayin once the game was well in hand, and although he threw a touchdown pass, he also threw a pick in limited action. Tavien St. Clair replaced him and fared a little better, so a switch in the QB pecking order is a definite possibility.
