Fully healthy for spring
Taylor (ankle) is fully healthy for Mississippi State's spring practice period, per Carlo Barone of WCBI Sports.
Impact
Taylor underwent surgery on his left ankle following a breakout freshman season in which he tossed for 629 yards, five touchdowns and one interceptions while rushing for 458 yards and eight scores. He immediately looked like an extremely capable dual-threat quarterback in the SEC, and is one of the more exciting returning players in the conference. It's excellent news for the Bulldogs that he's back to full health, as a full offseason working with Mississippi State's starters should do wonders for his development.

Undergoes surgery on left ankle
Taylor underwent a procedure on his left ankle in January, but is expected to make a "quick and full" recovery for spring practice, per the Clarion Ledger.
Impact
Taylor was carted off the field in Mississippi State's bowl game against Wake Forest, but at the time it was reported that he avoided a serious injury. He did have to undergo surgery on his ankle, but it appears to have been a minor procedure as he is expected to be completely good to go by the time spring practice rolls around. Taylor is poised to be the Bulldogs' QB1 next fall, and the exciting dual-threat gunslinger tossed for 629 yards, five touchdowns and one interception while rushing for 458 yards and eight scores in 2025.

Avoids serious injury
Taylor went down with a lower leg injury and was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Friday's 43-29 loss to Wake Forest, but he avoided a serious injury, Super Talk News...
Impact
Taylor completed 13 of 22 passes for 241 yards with a touchdown, and he logged 18 rushes for 63 yards and a score before his late departure. The freshman quarterback avoiding serious injury is a good sign for his recovery, but he'll remain questionable for the Bulldogs' spring ball. Taylor is primed to be the future at the QB position for Mississippi State, so his recovery will hopefully go smoothly ahead of the 2026 campaign.
