Marquis Johnson - Doesn't play with starters
Johnson didn't play with Mississippi State's starters in the Bulldogs' spring game, per 247Sports.
Impact
Instead, Anthony Evans, Ayden Williams and Sanfrisco Magee were the starting unit for the Bulldogs. Johnson still figures to get involved this fall at Mississippi State after surpassing 300 yards in each of the previous three seasons at Missouri. Still, the receiver may have some catching up to do to earn snaps.

Xavier Gayten - Out for spring game
Gayten (undisclosed) did not play Mississippi State's spring game Saturday morning, David H. Murray of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
It is unknown why Gayten did not play Mississippi State's spring game, but considering that he is a big name on the Aggie team, his absence is worth noting. Each of his last two seasons has seen the running back log at least 100-plus rushing yards for MSU, who will look to get him going in the summer and fall.

Kamario Taylor - Fully healthy for spring
Taylor (ankle) is fully healthy for Mississippi State's spring practice period, per Carlo Barone of WCBI Sports.
Impact
Taylor underwent surgery on his left ankle following a breakout freshman season in which he tossed for 629 yards, five touchdowns and one interceptions while rushing for 458 yards and eight scores. He immediately looked like an extremely capable dual-threat quarterback in the SEC, and is one of the more exciting returning players in the conference. It's excellent news for the Bulldogs that he's back to full health, as a full offseason working with Mississippi State's starters should do wonders for his development.

Kamario Taylor - Undergoes surgery on left ankle
Taylor underwent a procedure on his left ankle in January, but is expected to make a "quick and full" recovery for spring practice, per the Clarion Ledger.
Impact
Taylor was carted off the field in Mississippi State's bowl game against Wake Forest, but at the time it was reported that he avoided a serious injury. He did have to undergo surgery on his ankle, but it appears to have been a minor procedure as he is expected to be completely good to go by the time spring practice rolls around. Taylor is poised to be the Bulldogs' QB1 next fall, and the exciting dual-threat gunslinger tossed for 629 yards, five touchdowns and one interception while rushing for 458 yards and eight scores in 2025.
