Braeden Carrington - Hits clutch free throws in win Carrington registered eight points (2-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and four rebounds in 21 minutes during Tuesday's 92-90 OT win over Illinois.
Impact Carrington's emergence, which can be traced back to the start of the new calendar year, has completely changed the complexion of this team. The senior guard is shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from distance (on 4.3 triples attempted per game), both of which are career-highs. He's had a few big nights, like his 21-point outing at Minnesota on Jan. 13, his personal revenge game, but he's mainly provided a steady presence in the backcourt. In the huge win over Illinois, he hit two crucial free throws in overtime to help ice the game for the Badgers. His stats won't wow you, but make no mistake -- Carrington has been crucial for Wisconsin's strong showing in Big Ten play thus far.

John Blackwell - Buries Illinois with five triples Blackwell notched 24 points (9-22 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 43 minutes during Tuesday's 92-90 OT victory over Illinois.
Impact Blackwell's 24 points were his most since the Jan. 13 win over Minnesota, which was also the last time he canned five three-pointers. The guard was excellent for Wisconsin, hitting big shots to keep the Badgers in the game and then knocking down a huge three-pointer in overtime to give Wisconsin what wound up being an insurmountable lead. Blackwell appears to live for the bright lights, playing his best in hostile environments and clutch situations.
FEBRUARY 11 • ROTOWIRE
Nick Boyd - Several huge buckets in win Boyd supplied 25 points (10-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, five assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 92-90 OT win over Illinois.
Impact At this point, it's clear the Wisconsin will go as Boyd and John Blackwell go. On the road in Champaign, against the No. 8 Fighting Illini, both were once again stellar. Boyd made several huge shots, and while Blackwell was electrifying from deep, the point guard made a handful of dynamic plays at the rim. He now has 20-plus points in five straight games, and is posting 47/50/81 shooting splits in that span.

No. 5 Illinois hosts Winter and Wisconsin

Wisconsin visits the No. 5 Illinois Fighting Illini after Nolan Winter scored 26 points in the Badgers' 78-77 overtime loss to the Indiana Hoosiers
FEBRUARY 9 • Associated Press
Nolan Winter - Career high in defeat Winter finished with 26 points (9-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 12 rebounds and two blocks over 39 minutes during Saturday's 78-77 OT loss to Indiana.
Impact Winter had the best scoring day of the season and of his career, in addition to posting his second consecutive double-double. He also came up big on a few defensive possessions, which has been a trend this year, as he has a pair of blocks in four of his last five games. Winter is a perfect testament to Wisconsin's player development and will be pivotal in any prospective postseason run.

Impact After a one-game absence, Rohde is back for Wisconsin, and the question becomes whether or not he can maintain his streak as a regular starter. In all the senior's 21 games this season, he has started each, averaging 6.5 points, 2.8 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers made.

The senior wing averages 6.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists this season.

Wisconsin visits Indiana after Wilkerson's 33-point game

Indiana hosts the Wisconsin Badgers after Lamar Wilkerson scored 33 points in Indiana's 81-75 loss to the USC Trojans
FEBRUARY 6 • Associated Press
Austin Rapp - Finds shooting stroke again Rapp recorded 19 points (7-10 FG, 5-7 3Pt) and six rebounds over 20 minutes during Saturday's 92-82 victory over Ohio State.
Impact Rapp has been hit-or-miss as a reserve forward option for the Badgers this season, as his final output often depends on whether or not his first three-point basket falls. He found his shooting stroke in the first half Saturday and didn't look back, scoring his most points in a game since a Nov. 27 loss to Providence. On the year, Rapp has found the Big Ten scheduling far tougher than the WCC slate he saw last season that ended up with him winning conference Freshman of the Year honors. His scoring, rebounding and three-point percentage are all down, but was we saw here, the 6-10 sophomore can still emerge as an X-factor for the Badgers on occasion.
FEBRUARY 1 • ROTOWIRE
Nolan Winter - Holds down paint for Badgers Winter closed with 11 points (5-11 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 31 minutes during Saturday's 92-82 win over Ohio State.
Impact Winter's open three-point looks may not have been falling, but he affected the game defensively against an opponent that largely utilized a small-ball lineup. The end result was his fourth double-double of the calendar year, as well as the third time in the last four games he's recorded multiple blocks. Winter and the Badgers now have a slight break ahead before hitting the road to face Indiana on Saturday.
