Jackson Fields - Missing start of regular season Fields is expected to miss the start of the regular season due to an injury to his non-shooting hand, reports.

Impact Fields underwent surgery on the injury this Summer, and he's expected to miss West Virginia's season opener. While he doesn't have an exact timeline for return, there's hope he'll be able to return during the non-conference slate. Fields started in 33 of 34 games for Troy last season and figures to compete for minutes off the bench with the Mountaineers.

Brenen Lorient - Withdraws from NBA Draft Lorient will withdraw from the 2025 NBA Draft, per Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.

Impact Lorient transferred to West Virginia this offseason while also putting his name in the NBA Draft, meaning he'll now play for the Mountaineers in 2025-2026. Last season at North Texas, he 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 57 percent from the field. The 6-foot-9 forward now brings reinforcements to the front court in Morgantown.
