Gandia-Rosa helps North Florida pull away from Stetson 73-65 (Jan 27, 2018)

DELAND, Fla. (AP) Ivan Gandia-Rosa scored 10 of his 15 points after halftime, leading four into double-figure scoring and North Florida fended off Stetson 73-65 Saturday as the teams reached the halfway mark of Atlantic Sun Conference play.

Neither team shot well, but North Florida never trailed despite three ties, shooting 25 of 63 from the floor (40 percent). J.T. Escobar tossed in 13 points, Trip Day 12, and Wajid Aminu 11 with 12 rebounds. Noah Horchler pulled down 16 boards to go with nine points for the Ospreys (10-14, 4-3). Gandia-Rosa added seven assists.

Divine Myles led Stetson (10-14, 2-5) with 18 points and four assists. Luke Doyle scored nine of his 12 points in the first half, and Leo Goodman added 10. The Hatters shot 34 percent (24 of 70).

Doyle scored on a layup and hit a 3-pointer as Stetson sliced a double-digit North Florida lead down to three, 41-39. North Florida missed its next five shots and the Hatters fought into a 43-43 tie with 14:49 to play.

Amin answered with a layup and North Florida pulled away from there.
