RB Aaron Jones active for Packers vs 49ers

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Running back Aaron Jones is active for the Green Bay Packers against the San Francisco 49ers after missing the previous two games with a calf injury.

Jones will dress for the game Thursday night but it’s not immediately clear how much action he will get. The Packers will be without left tackle David Bakhtiari (chest) for a third straight game and cornerback Kevin King (quadriceps) for a fourth straight.

The other players inactive for the Packers are S Will Redmond (shoulder), S Vernon Scott (shoulder), QB Jordan Love and defensive lineman Billy Winn.

Receiver Richie James Jr. (ankle) and safety Jaquiski Tartt (groin) are active for the 49ers after being listed as questionable.

The inactive players for San Francisco are RB Tevin Coleman (knee), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (hamstring) and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon.

The Niners also made several moves before the game because of injuries and players on the COVID-19 list.

They activated tight end Jordan Reed from injured reserve and promoted six players from the practice squad. Receivers Kevin White and River Cracraft, tight end Daniel Helm, and safety Johnathan Cyprien were elevated as COVID-19 replacements, while offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom and running back Austin Walter were also elevated for the game.

The Packers elevated safety Henry Black, cornerback Stanford Samuels and running back Dexter Williams from the practice squad for the game as COVID-19 replacements. They also elevated guard Ben Braden from the practice squad to the active roster.
