Winston's 37 lead Coppin State over UMBC 89-70
BALTIMORE (AP) — Justin Winston scored 37 points as Coppin State beat UMBC 89-70 on Thursday.
Winston added 13 rebounds and four steals for the Eagles (1-7). Aa'Reyon Jones scored nine points, shooting 3 for 6 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 2 of 3 from the free throw line. Camaren Sparrrow had nine points and finished 4 of 7 from the field. The win broke a seven-game slide for the Eagles.
The Retrievers (4-5) were led by Dion Brown, who posted 18 points, six rebounds and two steals. Marcus Banks, Bryce Johnson and Ronnie Williams each added 11 points for UMBC.

Coppin State plays Sunday against Navy on the road, and UMBC hosts Lehigh on Saturday.
