Spadone's 14 lead Bucknell over Loyola Maryland 79-67
LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Achile Spadone's 14 points helped Bucknell defeat Loyola Maryland 79-67 on Wednesday night.
Spadone added five rebounds and three steals for the Bison (9-13, 5-4 Patriot League). Noah Williamson scored 13 points while shooting 3 of 7 from the field and 6 for 11 from the line and added 16 rebounds. Ruot Bijiek went 4 of 8 from the field (4 for 7 from 3-point range) to finish with 12 points.
The Greyhounds (8-12, 3-6) were led in scoring by Jacob Theodosiou, who finished with 22 points and two steals. Milos Ilic added 14 points for Loyola. Braeden Speed had 12 points and two blocks.
Bucknell took the lead with 19:14 left in the first half and never looked back. Spadone led their team in scoring with eight points in the first half to help put them up 40-29 at the break. Bucknell pulled away with an 8-0 run in the second half to extend a three-point lead to 11 points. They outscored Loyola by one point in the final half, as Williamson led the way with a team-high 11 second-half points.
