Ireland scores 24, Nicholls State knocks off Mobile 74-65

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — Byron Ireland's 24 points helped Nicholls State defeat Mobile 74-65 on Saturday.

Ireland also had six rebounds for the Colonels (5-8). Diante Smith scored 20 points and added eight rebounds and four steals. Jamal West finished with 13 points.

Treylan Smith led the Rams in scoring, finishing with 19 points. Mobile also got 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks from Damariee Jones. In addition, Ezra McKenna had 14 points.
