Covington's 22 lead UMass Lowell over Binghamton 87-80
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Yuri Covington scored 22 points as UMass-Lowell beat Binghamton 87-80 on Thursday night.
Covington shot 8 for 13, including 4 for 9 from beyond the arc for the River Hawks (18-7, 9-3 America East Conference). Max Brooks scored 20 points while going 5 of 8 and 10 of 10 from the free throw line, and added 10 rebounds and five blocks. Quinton Mincey had 20 points and was 6 of 10 shooting, including 4 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 5 from the line.
The Bearcats (12-14, 4-9) were led by Tymu Chenery, who recorded 24 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Nehemiah Benson added 20 points and seven rebounds for Binghamton. In addition, Symir Torrence finished with 12 points, 11 assists and two steals.
