Georgia Tech's C.J. Leggett out for year with ACL tear

Published Apr. 21, 2015 2:55 p.m. ET

Trouble is mounting for the Yellow Jackets at B-back.

Earlier this month, Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported a foot injury that could keep early-enrollee freshman Quaide Weimerskirch out "possibly into the season." Now, Sugiura is reporting that C.J. Leggett has torn his ACL and will miss the entire 2015 season.

The injury occurred at practice last Wednesday, Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson confirmed to Sugiura. Leggett, a redshirt freshman, was projected to start at B-back with 2014 contributors Synjyn Days, Zach Laskey and Matt Connors all graduated.

The Jackets will entertain new options at Leggett's position, including redshirt-junior Marcus Allen.
