Injured Bluejays close to returning to action

Creighton's preseason has been one plagued with injuries.

But the Bluejays are expected to get a trio of players back on the floor, according to Steve Pivovar of the Omaha World-Herald. Marcus Foster and Marlon Stewart returned to practice this weekend. Foster, a Kansas State transferring sitting out this season due to NCAA transfer rules, had surgery on a partially torn MCL back in Oct. Stewart, a combo guard, missed time due to a torn meniscus.

Ronnie Harrell, who is projected to share minutes on the wing with Khyri Thomas, is also close to returning. However, it is unlikely he will play this week in Las Vegas as he continues his recovery from a stress fracture suffered in the Bluejays' exhibition win over Upper Iowa.

Creighton is part of the Men Who Stand Up Main Event field at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this week. The Bluejays first matchup is against Rutgers on Monday night. They'll play either Clemson or UMass in the second game on Wednesday.
