Cubs add free-agent OF DeJesus

Chicago Cubs reach agreement with David DeJesus

The Cubs have found a new right fielder, reaching an agreement Wednesday with free agent David DeJesus.

The deal, a two-year, $10 million agreement with a club option, marks the team's first major transaction under new club president Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer.

DeJesus, 31, batted .240/.323/.376 last season with the Oakland A's, the worst offensive season of his career.

Prior to that, his career slash line was .289/.360/.427.

DeJesus, after playing nine seasons in the American League, will be in the NL for the first time.
