Winter storm expected to hit New Jersey on Tuesday

According to NJ.com, a low-pressure system is expected to dump up to eight inches of snow over most of New Jersey. In fact, a winter storm warning has been issued starting at noon on Tuesday.

New Jersey, in case you haven't heard, is where Super Bowl XLVIII will be played on Feb. 2. So, what does this mean for the big game?

"It looks like the next couple of weeks are going to be on the colder side of the equation," Mitchell Gaines, of the National Weather Service, said.

"This system is going to draw in moisture from the Atlantic and strengthen off the coast," Gaines said. "It initially looked like it was going to be a run-of-the-mill clipper system but over the past 48 hours, the trends indicate that it will be a much stronger system than we anticipated. We're going to see strong winds on the back side of this storm so we’ll see blowing snow Tuesday night."

Strong winds? Blowing snow? Good lord. What's worse is that the snow isn't expected to melt soon as an "Arctic mass" is waiting to strike. Temps could dive into the single-digits range on Wednesday and the the daily highs are expected to just be in the 20s for the rest of week.

We'll have to wait and see if this trend will continue into the end of next week, but it's clear at this point that things are looking cold.

Damn cold. And possibly snowy. Good luck, Seahawks and Broncos. You're going to need it.
