What a shock: Johnny Manziel won't throw at Combine
The NFL Scouting Combine is coming up next week and quarterback Johnny Manziel will be there. He'll talk to people, maybe get measured and weighed and the like.
What he won't do is throw. Manziel's agent tweeted this out late Friday:
.@JManziel2 will do all of his throwing at his March 27th Pro Day & private workouts. Teams will have all the time & access they want.

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Many highly touted players choose to save their workouts for their Pro Days and in other settings that they can control. LucasOil Stadium in Indianapolis presents an unfamiliar environment and several people don't want to take any chances at something going wrong. There's just too much at stake.
So, while people here and there might squawk at his refusal to throw, don't pay any attention. Furthermore, don't expect Manziel's draft stock to take any kind of hit. He's still one of the best options at his position going into May's NFL Draft and that won't change now.
It's been a busy few days for the mercurial Manziel, as he went on record to the Houston Chronicle with his wish to be selected by the Texans with the No. 1 pick. The Texas native, in fact, said he wants "them to say absolutely, without a doubt, with 100 percent certainty, that I'm who they want."
"I want everybody from the janitor at Reliant Stadium to the front office executive assistant all the way up to (owner) Bob McNair to say, 'This kid is 100 percent, can't miss. This is who we want being the face of our program. We want the Texas kid staying in Texas and leading the Texans,'" Manziel said.
