I think the correct answer is "mostly luck," but don't ask me how Union Olimpija forward Blaz Mahkovic in the Slovenian League managed to sink this desperate heave from out of bounds and over the hoop. Some credit goes to Mahkovic's teammate for the air ball that allowed the circus shot, because with the shot clock about to expire, Mahkovic had no choice but to throw one at the rim.

Olimpija won the game by a lot plus two for the trick shot.
