Terrence Newman wants a Super Bowl.

He thinks he can do it with the Minnesota Vikings.

Newman agreed to re-up with the Vikings on Wednesday, signing on for his 15th season in the NFL.

He will turn 39 in September, and would become just the second cornerback in NFL history to play past age 38 according to Pro Football Reference, joining former Redskins defensive back Darrell Green, who retired in 2002 at the age of 42.

Newman told Sirius XM on Tuesday that he believes in Minnesota's ability to win a Super Bowl next season.

"The only reason I'm playing the game right now is to win a ring," Newman said. “I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t think I could win a ring. I wouldn’t try to play this game and go to a team that is ‘rebuilding’ or what have you.”

But while the two-time Pro Bowl defender had nothing left to prove when he signed with the Vikings in 2015 after 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals, he's added to his legend since arriving in Minnesota.

Newman has started 26 games over the last two seasons, racking up 121 tackles, 21 pass breakups and four interceptions.

He was Pro Football Focus' No. 9-rated cornerback last season, and gave up a reception every 14.7 snaps in coverage, the second-lowest rate in the NFL behind Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman.

Newman leads all active defensive backs in games played (205) and starts (198).
