The Vikings are preparing for life without Audie Cole.

The team signed linebacker Jason Trusnik on Tuesday, while placing Cole on injured reserve after the 26-year-old fractured his ankle in Sunday's win over the Rams.

Trusnick has bounced around the league since signing with the New York Jets as an underrated free agent in 2007, spending two years with the Cleveland Browns, before appearing in 64 games for the Miami Dolphins between 2011 and 2014.

The 31-year-old Ohio Northern product was cut by the Panthers prior to the 2015 season, and has amassed 24 starts and 146 tackles during his career.
