Vikings place Bridgewater on IR, sign QB Sorenson

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 2:40 p.m. ET

The Minnesota Vikings made it official, placing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater on season-ending injured reserve and signing QB Brad Sorenson, who had been waived when the team cut down to 75 players earlier in the week.

Bridgewater suffered a dislocated knee in Tuesday's practice, leaving Minnesota with just two quarterbacks on its roster -- veteran Shaun Hill and rookie Joel Stave, an undrafted free agent.

Sorenson, who has spent time on the practice squads with San Diego and Tennessee, did not appear in the preseason for the Vikings, but he's expected to play Thursday, along with Stave, in Minnesota's final exhibition game at home against St. Louis.
