Report: Phil Jackson calls Derek Fisher about Knicks job

The New York Knicks are still searching for a head coach, and Derek Fisher is emerging as the leading candidate for the job.
Knicks president Phil Jackson spoke with his former player on the phone Wednesday and talks between the two will continue next week, according to Yahoo Sports citing league sources.
Fisher won five NBA championships as a player under Jackson during their years with the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to the report, the 39-year-old is "leaning strongly" toward retiring from his playing career and is "expected to move forward with more substantive talks" with the Knicks.
Jackson's first choice for head coach, Steve Kerr, accepted the Golden State Warriors job over the Knicks.
